Oh get real . In NYC circa 2021 winning the Democratic primary meant winning the general election. You could speculate that Sliwa maybe had some chance, but it would have been a tremendous surprise. Plus presumably all of the mayoral candidates formulate their plans for governing the city when they run - what else are they running for?

Adams has his work cut out for him. Big time. If he doesn't start cleaning up the streets, the trajectory of NYC could take a very dark turn soon.

It's still early in his tenure, but there has been an increase in high profile crimes and shootouts in broad day light the past few weeks (and they say winter tends to have less crime than when it's warm out, might be a HOT summer...) and his "cracker" comments have not gone over well.

Off to a really rough start to say the least.

If you think liberals care about the cracker comments you are delusional. If anything they would cheer him on, bend over and provide lube, both men and women, husbands and wives. Its in their Dna.

I do not think the liberals care, but I imagine that some police do. The same police that he needs to rely on if he is to clean up crime.

I'm not a liberal and I couldn't care less about him saying "crackers", and I'm sure he calls other black people "N&%$as" because that's probably how he talks, I'm sure he means no harm and we need to stop being as sensitive as the woketards, they're not a reference.

But you are right about the fact that it doesn't get a Joe Rogan type of media outrage... and indeed, neo-liberals and progressive would call it "equity" and smile.

Looks like Albany dems are not interested in changing bail reform and Adams seems pretty calm about it. Not good.

“We should do a better job making sure dangerous people are not on the street, just as we should do a good job of making sure weapons are not on the streets,” Adams, who ran on the promise of reducing crime, said.

But to this point, state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, both Democrats, have held firm. They’ve argued that allowing judges to consider “dangerousness” would invite racial bias into the equation.

On Monday, however, Adams and the legislative leaders stood shoulder-to-shoulder in a show of Democratic unity after they met for a half hour in private.

“We know that we have to continue to look at how we can make the system better in the context of COVID, in the context of the proliferation of guns,” Stewart-Cousins said when asked about the issue of crime.

Adams said he came away from the meetings with the belief that legislative leaders are committed to balancing the issues of justice and safety – a common theme throughout the mayor’s public comments.

What a joke.
It's simple -you have the same rules for people regardless of race. Not this crap Biden wrote 25 years ago that punished black people much more severely than white people for the same exact crimes. When you're out there committing crime after crime, often violent ones or ones that can turn violent I don't care about your upbringing or the fact your ancestors may have been slaves. If you're that messed up and that far gone you need to be dealt with for everyone else's safety.

Are you serious? Anyone with such low brow vocabulary should not be in the office. I know plenty of black and white people and none of them use such stupid language and they are not in the office of any kind. Grown people above age 12 dont talk like that.
Guys is a moron and was put in place to do what he is told. Like the moron before him.
