I don't really like Ollie's. It just feels so "junky" to me. Maybe if they move into the old Giant it will feel nicer since that store has been remodeled recently.

I agree that it would be nice to have a back way into Orchard Hills - maybe through Kmart's parking lot or from Eighth Street behind Bob Evans and that motel with the Mexican restaurant. (That motel has changed hands so many times I can never remember what it is at the moment. )

We have friends who live on the edge of the MM field area in one of those homes that used to be summer cabins for the Rolling Green park area, and we were joking that they'd be there so often that Target should install a sidewalk right to their home for them.

Default Marketplace Map

In regards to what stores are going in and where entrances will be, I managed to find this while searching via google:

I hope that's helpful.

Wow! There's a sudden influx of Selinsgrove area members on this forum. That's wonderful to see! Keep 'em coming! Y'all should have a meet-and-greet down there in front of that cool Blue Dog Imaging sign!

Paul, that's actually one of the creepiest signs I've ever seen! LOL! It really causes a double-take every time I drive by!

But I do agree that it's great to see more Selinsgrove residents on here. Anyone attend the Wine/BrewFest on Saturday?

Apparently you've never seen me running shirtless in spandex?

Store ‘targets’ new employees | newsitem.com (http://www.newsitem.com/articles/2008/07/22/news/sh_newsitem.20080722.a.pg1.sh22target_s1.1826607_t op4.txt - broken link)

Found a new article that has hiring dates towards the end of the article:

In addition to Best Buy and Target, other Monroe Marketplace stores will set up shop at the CareerLink in the upcoming months. Those stores include: Red Robin, Aug. 6 and Michaels, Dec. 7. Bed Bath and Beyond will host a job fair from Sept. 22-26 at the Shamokin Dam’s Hampton Inn.
Also got a flyer in the mail for Kohl's hiring:

August 10 and 11--10:45am-6:15pm
August 12 and 14--12:15pm-7:30pm
August 13--8:45am-4:00pm

Will be at the Shamokin Dam Hampton Inn and states you can set up an interview at www.kohlscareers.com or call 1-877-639-5645

Any news on when Michaels is hiring locally? I checked out their website and our store isn't even listed as a "coming soon" store.

The article in the post above states Michaels hiring "Dec 7" at Careerlink but that appears to be a typo. I'm gussing maybe Careerlink on August 7 but not sure. Too bad they didn't create a website that handled hiring for all the stores since quite a few are coming in. Would have been a pretty cool idea and helpful. I heard Careerlink had huge turnouts for the hiring they have done so far for MM.

I believe Career Link is handling hiring this week for Target hourly jobs such as cashier, stock person, etc. It may even start today. They had huge turnouts for the more managerial type positions a few weeks ago.

Target has a very progressive management training program, and they recruit very heavily on college campuses. A few of my peers at King's are interning with the company en route to becoming retail managers. Yes, retail management may entail lengthy hours and a lot of "getting yelled at," but the pay is usually pretty good, especially for a relatively rural area like Snyder County. I'm pretty sure my main manager at our Lowe's store makes six-figures.
