I think that the way it is worded is what so many find upsetting, even insulting. As if a belief in God wipes out someone's ability to use reason.

I would be just as offended by a religious billboard. Either is unnecessary.

I agree with you, but they have a right to put it up there. Just as not believing in Jesus means you are going to live in a lake of fire forever and ever.

IMHO, the never ending Atheist argument that if you believe that a creater may just have created the universe than you are a bleepin idiot without reason or logic gets annoying as well. But I just ignore every religion's ideas because they are all bleepin stupid to me.

Not according to that billboard. They are not espousing their beliefs that we are all a cosmic accident, created by the randomness of chance and luck. The billboard disparages Christians for their beliefs in Christianity, it does not put out any other message then that.

They are obviously an intolerant bunch.
Believe in nothing? That's an assumption. Most likely incorrect. I believe in myself without the 'guidance' of any supernatural mythical beings.
Atheism is not a religion, but christians have extreme difficulty to understand this.
Religion has very little positive to offer. Religion has a reputation of being very unkind (at least) to all who have different views.
Atheism could promote logic and reason, instead of superstitions which are based on nothing.
Billboards such as the one in the OP chip away at the christian ivory tower of power to which they feel divinely entitled.
It's apparent that christians regard as arrogant anyone who challenges their self-imposed ultimate authority. Of course, christians despise any challenge.

Yet who's the one spewing generalisations and prejudice about "those people" from their keyboard?

Religion is defined as one's set of beliefs in the cause, creation, and purpose of life and the universe. When one goes around demanding that everybody else is wrong, that there is no "mythical beings" behind the creation one is pointing out their idea on religion. I hold no argument that using a logical scientific method to figuring out how the universe was created is the correct way. However, Atheist do annoy me when they have to attack other people in their ideas of filling in the holes that arn't answered by faith. Faith makes people happy and comfortable. Who cares?

Just a comment regarding whom is subject to "hate" from whom.

The percentage of Americans who are atheist/agnostic/secular is around 14%.

Yet there are more declared Scientologists in Congress than Atheists. That gives you a sense of who really is the "hated" group... at least in this country.

Don't christians adamantly cling to the belief that everybody else is wrong? Are you a christian...or is there something wrong with you?
Faith also makes people act on their prejudices, often to cause suffering for others.
Anyone who notices christian behavior one can see that they delight to categorize people as 'good' or 'bad', usually based on religious beliefs.
