Pure racism is what explains the cons obsession with Obama being half white. It reminds me of that conversation in Roots II between Alex Haley and a famous American Nazi, George Lincoln Rockwell I think. In the scene Rockwell had just learned about the impressive education etc of Alex Haley, a black man. And he responds by saying that Haley must have some white blood in him and that white blood was where he got his brains

He calls himself Black because that's what this country demands of folk with one drop of black blood.
If the same criteria was used for the majority of Black Folk in this country most would be multi-racial.
Many White Folk would also be reclassified as Black or multi-racial.
Why don't more whites admit to being multi-racial or Black, their DNA would support that fact and according to some on this board there's no such thing as racism; or blacks get all the breaks.

Why would Republicans acknowledge any white blood in the CIC. Many of them are too busy calling him a Muslim, socialist, terrorist, Communist, and n1ggar, among other things.
Honest question: How do Black Americans react to bi-racial children?
Black Americans have been having biracial children since the days of slavery. How would you expect Black Americans to react to biracial (or mixed heritage) children? Trust me, Black America is very accepting of mixed race children....most White Americans...not so much.
Has any other President been asked to do this? Even white looking people can have a lot of ethnicities mixed into their history, and many ancestors of a different group. But nobody seems to care about a background of English German Greek Russian etc because it cannot be seen on the outside--the skin colour.
It's all about the politics of race. If you were Barack Obama and you had the prospect of being referred to as the "First Black President," would you even bring white into the conversation? Of course not. That's why he wrote extensively about his background.....so he could rightfully say he has broached the topic in his books and thus had little need to say it out loud on the campaign trail where the notion of a "First Black President" was Golden Political Capital.
