Why doesn't President Obama acknowledge that he's half-white or multiracial? (ethics, status)

The article quoted a political science professor who said that Obama identifies as black for political reasons. If he had called himself multiracial in Chicago, he never would have had a political career.
Indeed mates ... no matter how some of the the bloody "Looney Liberals" spin the matter of race regarding "The One", they cannot change the obvious fact that the blighter is 50% White & 50% Black !!!

Sounds like you have no real knowledge of black american struggles nor American history in general for that matter.
Good question, but one i could care less about at this time. I believe it is neither a question of being part black or white, that will make one a good President.
And yet,as the LA times article stated,he didn't use the opportunity of the last census to put down biracial....
So he didn't answer "biracial" in one poll and all the sudden he doesn't acknowledge his racial status, never mind the numerous times he does refer to it and also openly talk about his white mother and black father.
Do you tell everyone everything all the time? Aren't there some times you reserve information in that instance for whatever reason (e.g. your political or religious beliefs in a job interview or the intimate details of sex with your partner while conversing with your mother)? That doesn't mean you don't acknowledge it overall. Maybe you just find it's unnecessary or unwise to share that particular piece of information in that specific situation.
Why he put down "black" in that poll is a matter of speculation. Unless we're inside Obama's head, we can't know why.
Pure racism is what explains the cons obsession with Obama being half white. It reminds me of that conversation in Roots II between Alex Haley and a famous American Nazi, George Lincoln Rockwell I think. In the scene Rockwell had just learned about the impressive education etc of Alex Haley, a black man. And he responds by saying that Haley must have some white blood in him and that white blood was where he got his brains
What is so bad about him being both? If you are both, you should be proud of both. Pure racism is what makes him not acknowlage his white side.
