Who cares? I don't owe my son anything beyond a good upbringing and a good education....both of which i gave him.

Anything beyond that is icing on the cake and isn't owed to him.

Yep, it's like with that old saying on giving fish vs. teaching how to fish...

A lot of Baby Boomers are giving their money to charities upon their death. Some of their kids are just too greedy for their own good and will get a shock when they don't get a dime from the deep pockets they've been picking since their birth.

What a hilarious thread. People complaining that their parents won't leave them any money because their parents are selfish. Someone needs to look up the word "irony." I hear it's good for your blood.

I wish my dad had spent a little more money on enjoying himself. Too late now.

I understand the younger generations being angry at the current economic situation in America but most of us with any time under our belt have known people in every generation who were selfish.

I have always felt that one of the greatest things I could do on this Earth was to give my children a boost in life. If I don't lose my meager wealth to an increasingly corrupt government, or a society who thinks it should be redistributed among strangers, I plan to do exactly that.

well, many of them are so ignorant that they actually think Medicare is "paid for". they don't understand that we borrow hundreds of billions of dollars per year to pay for it.

that's part of why the debt ceiling issue was so complicated, no one wanted to talk about cutting medicare, because it scares the boomer voters. Forget "inheritance", how about not leave us with unprecedented costs?

I'd say the bigger problem is that the Republicans refused to consider increasing revenues.. I'm all for taking away the Bush cuts for the upper % of income earners, and actually, if it would be the only way to do it, just take them away all together.
