I do have to disagree about your broad use of the word "cheap" to describe black restaurant patrons. My experience with black customers has been that they generally have no issues with ordering top-shelf liquors and the pricey things on the menu. It's just tipping that seems to be a problem.

Since the waitress in question seems to have objected to serving only black customers, perhaps she also had an issue with the tips she received from black patrons. I can't imagine her complaining if she were making a lot of money waiting on blacks exclusively.
Yes if what she says did occur she would also be negatively financially impacted and would probably be more of the driver of her suit. I just find it hard to believe because I doubt she was the only black server there. Were they assigned black only sections?

I am not racist but it's so true. Blacks or whites or yellows should be ashamed of themselves for not tipping properly on hospitality workers who get less than minimum wages and rely on tips for living. Stop being shameless cheap ignorant who always put hard time on servers at restaurants yet never appreciate and willing to compensate for that service properly. This is USA, can't afford tipping eat at fast food joints, do take outs or cook at home. There are no excuses for blacks, whites, yellows, immigrants, foreigners etc not to know this common sense and ettiquette. Sick of cheap demanding people.

For blacks who tip properly pls tell your brothas and sistas, tip properly or don't eat at full service restaurants and stop being mean and rude to servers, don't blame the stereotype because it has some truth in it.

Let's see,do any of you tip the gas station attendent, taxi driver, bellboy, elevator operator?
If not,****.

The bigger question is why cheap ass restaurants don't pay their wait staff a living wage.

I've been in the restaurant and bar industry for over 10 years, and the stereotypes are 100% correct.

If a table full of black people enters a restaurant or bar, you can be guaranteed 2 things:

They will complain about everything and they will severely undertip, if any tip is left at all.

Stereotypes are not racist if they are continually proven correct.

Ah the living wage argument....Ahahahahahaha

Are you prepared to pay quite a bit more for your dining experience?

Humor me......What do you believe a "living wage" for a bartender should be?

I'm not angry,I just don't understand how wait staff can get tips but no other service- related jobs can.
Nurses don't get tips.
I used to get patients trying to offer me money many times while I was a nurses aide, but we couldn't take it because it was "unethical".We would have got fired if we did take the money.
I was making 9 dollars an hr with no benefits.
Speaking of demanding customers, patients are just as demanding, and we get verbal abuse to go with it.

I used to hear of waitresses getting 200 dollars in tips per day, while I was making 63.00 dollars a day.

In some states don't wait staff get minimum wage?

Huh? Only wait staff get tips?

What about taxi drivers, bellmen, valet attendants, casino dealers, or masseuses, or any of the other assorted tipped positions?

I bartended in Vegas for 10 years, made $9-12 an hour and averaged about 70k per year give or take a few G's up until 2009. Relocated to the midwest and last year ended up right around 50k in tips with a huge $6.25 hourly wage.

As I asked before, are you prepared to pay more for your dining experience in order to subsidize a restaurant paying what you consider a "living wage"?

What would that number be?

The thing is,most people don't tip the taxicab driver or the beautician.
Anyone on here saying blacks are bad tippers in restaurants,do you tip the above?
I would say about 12 dollars an hour.

My question for you,why can't nurses aides and everyone else get tips?
