The problem is that although straight couples may perform acts resembling those of homosexuals, they can also uniquely perform the proper form of intercourse that is capable of creating new life.
And that relates to the civil contract of marriage, how?
The problem is that in our view, same-sex marriage is an abomination. We have good reasons for believing this. A religious reason for holding a particular political belief is as good as any a reason.
This does not entail hate for gays and lesbians. Simply wishing that many of them do not accomplish one of their goals does not equal hate for them. I may disagree with smaller government, but does that mean I hate libertarians? I may disagree with contraception, but does that mean I hate people who use it?
Hate borne from religion is actually one of the worst kinds of hate.... given that proponents of said religions usually run around talking out their collective arses about "love."
Promiscuity among homosexuals is well known to be greater than homosexuality among heterosexuals. Of course, there are some promiscuous heterosexuals too.
Stop being sensible. It's of no use to the radical Left and the mainstream media who have an agenda to pursue.
If I had a moral (even religious) objection to Asian people having the right to vote or to marry, what mealy-mouthed doublespeak would be sufficient for me to avoid critcism of me being a racist?
If I had some inexplicable moral objection to Jewish culture or customs, and used that as an excuse to favor the stripping of freedom of Jews to marry each other, is it valid for me to hide behind the lame@ss excuse that "I'm not an anti-semite, I just disagree with the Jewish lifestyle"?
Maybe it's just a libbbbbbbural conspiracy to disparage god fearing bigots of America to suggest that one SHOULDN'T be able to actually BE a bigot without the burden of carrying the MARK of a bigot!

Many have stated that the possibility is simply because promiscuity is more documented and more likely to be reported. Promiscuity is more taboo and thus less likely to be stated. A sample bias is more likely the source.
Marriage "equality" is bogus semantics. Nobody truly cares about equality. What the radical gays and especially atheist liberals really want is to destroy religious (mostly christian) institutions, and they've found that they can do this through gay 'marriage'.
