These people would have ZERO "gay friends" if their "gay friends" had any sense of self worth and saw what these people REALLY thought about them!
No kidding.

No self respecting gay man would be friends with someone who thinks they shouldn't have equal rights.

I want nothing to do with them and if they truly are disturbed by that (since they "disapprove" of our lifestyle so much) then I think they have some sort of borderline personality problem.

So, since an opposite-sex spouse doesn't have to sign some form, you're conceding that gay people do not have equal rights? Right?

(and it's not always that simple - how about an incapacitated patient who cannot sign anything)

Simple answer to all these questions: we don't give a rat's arse how you personally define the word "marriage." We believe we are guaranteed every right to a civil marriage as straight couples. We will not settle for some convoluted process to make civil unions more comparable to civil marriage just because you're butt hurt not everyone is following your archaic religious dogma. Suck it up and deal with it.

'Either look at things my way, or I refuse to associate with you?'

Now who's being childish?
If you "disapprove" of the lifestyle so much, why would you want homosexual companionship anyway?

Stick with your beloved straight people please.

You don't need anymore friends.

A consent form, and sometimes a legal medical power of attorney, are no good if you are traveling. I have had my legal poa questioned, and have been excluded from the ER while my partner was in after an accident. 4 hours with no word on her condition. If we were married I would have been at her side.

"Bleh, who cares. It's all your fault for choosing a sinful, disgusting, immoral lifestyle.

But I really don't hate you or your "kind", just the way you live, and would love for you to be my friend!

And if you choose not to be, your just as closed minded as me! "

Being married in the eyes of the government is what's at stake.

The inability to separate the two is the root cause of opposition to same sex marriage.

No that's what you wrote not me. I've been to the hospital when friends were in ER and allowed to see them, it must just be discrimination against gays

Opposition against homosexual marriage may not equal hatred towards homosexuals, but it does equal pure and utter stupidity.
