What's a "freak"? This is all perception. You're in West Hollywood, right? My goodness, to avoid the "freaks" you'd have to lock yourself in the basement. There's no way living in L.A. you don't have a higher comfort level around non-conformists especially in West Hollywood (or Venice Beach for that matter).
That brings me to Cuban's words:
"I know I'm bigoted in a lot of different ways. If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it's late at night, I'm walking to the other side of the street. And if on that side of the street, there’s a guy that has tattoos all over his face--white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere--I'm walking back to the other side of the street"
****
When was the last time Cuban walked down the street though? I'm guessing a few decades. His wealth has insulated him from being a regular guy who would have to walk down a street late at night without maximum protection.
I think the bigger story is him using this scenario as an example. Maybe he was recalling back to before he became wealthy but it just strikes me as odd that he would use this paradigm as an example.
Well he's lucky he doesn't have to anymore. He's just trying to make a point. Maybe he has to walk down the street to get into the Shark Tank?

do you understand a black guy with a hoodie on his head late at night is the look of a criminal?
^^^In the city I'm in, Hell yes
Mark Cuban is a brilliant man....
people are reading way more negativity into this than they should.
It's ridiculous, because he's spot on with his points.
The fact is there's good & bad in every color...
He was illustrating an example- yet so many want to take it out of context.

I understand he's trying to make a point but it seems to me that in doing so he kind of exposed himself as a bigot by conscious decision and not by practicality. That's because he hasn't walked down the street in decades.
If wehotex says he's leery I'll take his word for it that it's thru his practical experience (cuz he lives in West Hollywood and I'm assuming he doesn't have Cuban's $ to insulate).
any grown man with a hoodie on his head at night time is probably a criminal, white, black, or whoever
