I tend to cross the street when those who use the term "hoodie" approach me.
It was 2 white women who didn't back in march here in philly and it resulted in one of them getting killed. And yes both black had hoodies on their head.
Now it is. Now diversity is if you say something somebody doesn't like the media goes crazy to ramp up folks and you lose your NBA franchise. Was America founded on that?
In that situation I've always wondered why Sterling even went into the NBA.
It's like 80%-90 black? (correct me if I'm wrong about that stat, I'm not much of a basketball fan.)
It just wasn't smart.
With his feelings he could have taken his money elsewhere. It's not like he's a particularly successful owner, from everything I've read the team has been pretty bad until recently. Well he makes money(which one can argue is "success"), but the product hasn't been good.
It's like if I or a woman bought a Nascar team. We most likely would have a largely majority white male race team.
I don't think it would be smart, if I or that female owner, went out and told someone "hey I wish you wouldn't bring white men to the races."
There are a number of these hoodie wearing guys in my area. 20 something man boys who have never worked and mill about all day long smoking weed.
Do I avoid them? Yes!! I just can't reasonably see a need to not avoid an individual who could potentially be a threat.
One of them has a long criminal record with increasing violence, but thankfully his mother moved without him and the home was foreclosed. This guy would literally just walk down the neighborhood cursing randomly and doing general crazy stuff. One homeowner confronted him and no violence came of it, but it was a tense situation.
Darn right I will walk on the other side of the street.
Thank God the clacking heads on GMA seem to agree with Mark. Even Robin Roberts believes having a dialog about race and feelings people have is not the same thing as being a racist.
Lord, people are stupid to not have understood exactly what Cuban meant. He was completely to the point and it would be utterly impossible for anyone with a brain to not know what he was saying. But he later had to "clarify". Are people really that stupid that they need to be told over and over what they just heard? Why, yes, I believe they are. This is precisely what I mean when I talk about dumbed down America.
To apologize to the family of Trayvon was just plain stupid and uncalled for. Way off the Dealing with the Simple Minded chart.
Should be fun to see peoples reactions, will they follow the "sterling" route or does Mark get a pass because he stated the he is "prejudice."
Do we need to define what "prejudice" is....or will it be defined for us?
Political correctness has allowed bigotry to be conveniently defined by the accuser
