I don't have the figures, but I'd be willing to bet that all these companies (not the military) have significantly fewer employees combined than Wal-Mart does. I stand by my comment - Wal-Mart is a huge beneficiary of welfare.
The military shouldn't be included in this - it pays very well, has lots of tax-free benefits, along with great health care, educational benefits during and after your tour of duty, housing, even a subsistence allowance if you don't eat in the dining hall. Even has a really great life insurance policy if the ultimate should happen, and provides veteran benefits after you leave.

Most military people are not well paid, especially enlisted rank.
It appears you have no experience nor expertise in walking in the shoes you demand so much from....much less..those below your deemed echelon of deserving...One cannot take care of themselves..while working for 2 jobs..at minimum wages..YET Corporations get perks ..but the worker's get NO perks..THAT alone mean's Corporate's make huge profits on the back's of taxpayers..and yet taxpayer's still have to support those worker's?? WHY IS THAT????????????...
I think WAlmart's fiasco advertising their wishes for donations for their workers..( LOL) for their worker's spoke to the problem.....It's time they took less profits and paid their worker's a "Living Wage"..never mind minimum wage..When any worker has to work two or more jobs to make ends meet..tells you something...WALMART has profited FAR TOO LONG on the backs of workers and taxpayers IMO!! Walmart is just ONE example!!

When do people start to take care of themselves? Too often they look to the Government to take care of us. How much is too low of a salary? $15, $20, $25???? Is a big screen TV a necessity? Cell phones necessary? An automobile should be provided by the Feds?
Except for the truly down and out such as mentally challenged, those with chronic health problems, people with mental health problems or low-IQ, the rest of us should stand on our own two healthy limbs and work! Save money for old age and work for all you need now. You might not have the finest car or largest house , etc. But, you will be on your own taking care of yourself and i think that is a good healthy thing for all.

BBM~~ This will my final response to you..I did work my BUTT off for over 45 years..and yes..I know full well what it takes to make ends meet...raised 2 boyz on my own..with a Vietnam vet husband who took NO responsibility..He's Dead now..and my boys are fine ( have 6 grands) working..paying bills and love me ..which according to you..I should be hated/despised and a leaper ..BUT from your comfy couch to call ME RUDE..Yikes... I'm retired..and did look after my family..tight belted it..and NOW am retired..as of 2014..and doing quite well..So take your snark and go walk just for a month in the shoes of those LESS fortunate..I have cared for such folks..and they only thing they want..is being treated humanely..NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS..
