I think it's more of Americans being fed up with the nonstop barrage of in your face petty drama and intolerance shown by the LGBTQ community than being uncomfortable with their lifestyles.
I think its more to do with the racism, intolerance and hatred that Trump has been preaching and this has an overall effect on gullible Americans who are often too clueless to think for themselves, as well as stirring up feelings of racism and hatred that are often left buried, but now free to be openly displayed.

You see, depressed and mentally ill people will continue to demand rights they already have because they want people to look at them and they enjoy being victims.
That very much sounds like the same excuse used against blacks who wanted Jim Crow laws abolished. Such laws were designed to make them separate but equal.
I gather you're so highly blessed not to have had the Westboro Baptist Church nuts demonstrating against gays in your town before. They openly hate gays with a hell of a passion.
I don't agree with them.
However, are they not allowed to have an opinion? Are we banning free thought in the USA now?
This is the you MUST accept/celebrate/ally or else you are an enemy part that is HURTING the LGBT agenda.
No one EVER has the right to control how another person THINKS.

False.
The same USA population that voted in Obama and was considered tolerant, diverse, accepting, progressive, etc.
Is the SAME USA population that voted in Trump.
Except the next day everyone freaked out about how racist the whole country was.
One day difference. And all of America *suddenly* became racists.
To view it this way is MENTAL ILLNESS and victimization mentality.
Not one person's opinion changed. Violence was up, mainly from liberal protestors destroying property, beating people up and setting fires, banning speakers from colleges, etc. They were also stirring up hatred by name calling, divisionary tactics, etc.
It's also important to grasp how being conservative is also a mental illness, like every time the Westboro Church bunch demonstrates against gays at military funerals.
Bullying and severely punishing Christian business owners who didn't want to support their weddings certainly didn't do them any favors.
Don't make the bakers the victims. They broke local anti-discrimination laws. That's the point of the suits. It's not a "you hurt my feelings!" thing, it's a "you broke local law" thing. Amazing how people like you can twist facts and others will fall into your trap. You've probably fallen into a trap yourself, thinking this.
