You have loud mouths that cause issues for all groups where individuals are just out there trying to make their way in the world and being successful at it.
I don't think anyone should ever expect "acceptance" by everyone else, "tolerance" is to be expected in most situations though. With "tolerance" we just all do our own thing, whatever that is, and if we aren't harming someone else or in their face preaching to them, just "tolerate" as it is not that difficult.
Then don't get bent, when they throw it in my face and I throw it right back at them twice as hard and they run to their safe space of granted privilege.
Attacking someone because they don't accept you, is a hate crime. See, it is a two way street, until government gets involved.
I don't see "Castro Street Gays" except Gay Pride parades or LGBTQ protests. They might be open about it, but us straights are open with our boyfriend (if you are a girl) or girlfriend (if you are a boy.) I say live and let live. Gays just want to express love like straights can do. If that is "flaunting their sexuality" I would look into the mirror and rethink things. Ask yourself Do I flaunt my sexual status? Think about if you talk about my sexual conquests. Think about the times you talk about your SO to co-workers. Remember the time you kissed your SO in public. What about the times you danced witj your date. Maybe you hold your SO's hand at the movies. If you answered "yes" to any, and you complain about gays and lesbians, you have the problem, not them because you are a hypocrite.
My BIL and his finace are interracial. They were happy go lucky throughout Obama.
Then when Trump was elected he was terrified he was going to be shot in the street, not kidding. TERRIFIED. Said he would refuse to travel to certain areas of the country, just 100% sure he would get beat up and lynched, kidnapped and murdered.
Just insanity. Mental Illness. Victimhood. And she never said a word when he went on these rants. So not sure what her opinion was.

I prefer civility. Basically, just don't be jerk. It's nicer that way.
But some people are jerks, and, I also believe in the right to be a jerk, because I cannot control what others think or say.
And since I don't want anyone controlling what I think or say, I'm OK with it.
