I think this is revenge payback for the Rs and Trump exposing the deep corruption and bias in the DOJ, especially the FBI.
And It comes just as the Rs in congress are ready to indict the FBI fr contempt for not turning over the evidence they need.

I am not against exposing Cohen or Trump for real crimes, but the DOJ bias and corruption needs to be dealt with and exposed at this same level!

Most likely, Mueller is so desperate to find anything to justify the existence of his undertaking that he has resorted to raiding the office of President Trump's lawyer: a ruse to gain access to private and confidential communications between an attorney and his client.

Am I the only one on this forum old enough to remember that the first target of Nixon's plumbers was the professional office of Dr. Lewis Fielding, psychiatrist for Daniel Ellsberg?

It seems we have come full circle.

Sounds more like you guys are the ones acting so desperate to protect your hero you will resort to claiming a man as accomplished as Mueller has acted inappropriately.

An investigation goes where the evidence takes it, how many more times does this need to be explained to you? And if any investigator finds evidence of a crime while working on something else every single of them will follow up on that evidence. This does not change just because the man happens to be President.

As Nixon found out the hard way the President is not above the law, some of you need to understand this.

I think this part of the episode essentially means Mr. Trump has no game left to play.

Here's the thing -- Mueller finds something...not in his scope so he passes it on. After that it was up to the parties involved. Trump and fans can blame Mueller but Mueller didn't issue the warrant. He just passed on information.

Trump has several plays left, but getting closer to checkmate in this 3-D chess game.

Reportedly, Trump is Cohen's only client. So the documents that were just seized are bound to be worrisome.

You have no problem with the way the constitutional rights of multiple people are being stepped on here all in the quest to find something, anything on Trump? They have nothing so far. There is nothing for you to base your post on other than you don’t like Trump.

Might they find something Donald pushed the legality envelope in over the years now that they are in possession of private documents held by his attorney? Most likely but do you see the problem here?

How can it be determined, at this point, if his constitutional rights have been violated? That could end up being the case if it was determined there was no justification for the search. However, you do realize that people can be search, with cause, correct? If there is sufficient evidence to suggest that Trump campaign finance funds were used as "hush" money and this lawyer is not cooperating to prove or disprove that, he can be searched. If the basis for the search is later determined to be a lie, bogus, witchhunt, then Michael Cohen (who is familiar with the law) can countersue the government for all the money in the world in damages and send people to jail.

Granted the following may be simplistic however, at this point, what the heck.

This part of the episode is similar to the implementation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, (RICO).
