A lot of schools have good salad bars; mine did. Give kids some good dressing and they will eat their veggies.

100% yes.

And don't neglect the toppings either.

Peanut satay sauce on a bed of veggies with walnuts, peppers, coconut pieces, and sweet corn = heavenly

Yes, ONE meal, so enough with the insufferable whining.

Isn't there an NFL team that put out PB&J sandwiches for the guys before the game? Seems to me we need to lighten up a little. The human body can turn just about anything into fuel - anything within reason. And expecting kids to eat broccoli just because it's good for them is not going to make a very happy class.

Friday ought to be PB&J day - I bet you couldn't make enough of them!

A peanut butter and jelly sandwich made with white bread, two tablespoons each of peanut butter and strawberry jelly, provides 403 kcal, 18 g fat, 58 g carbs and 12 g protein which is 27% of the Recommended Daily Intake of fat and 22% of calories.[7]
While roughly 50% of the calories are from fat, most of them come from monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fats, which have been linked positively with heart health.[8]

If you care about healthcare so much in this country why are we letting pot smoking be legal?

Good question. It is a little hypocritical. Tobacco, and cigarettes have been extremely demonized, yet smoking pot is OK. That being said, I have no problem with people smoking pot, and legalizing all drugs, but as a society we are hypocrites to advocate one, and demonize the other.

Depends on where you live. My school district provides breakfast for any kid 18 and under who walks in the cafeteria door.

They also provide 2 meals a day in the summer and extended vacations. The board is looking to by food trucks to send out into the neighborhoods more than a 1/2 mile from the school.

Yuck. I hate PB&J, and have always hated it. I would have been skipping lunch every Friday.
