Because making it illegal in Louisiana, West Virginia, and Georgia will pretty much force women in those states who want abortions to travel to states (or other countries) where abortions are legal. Or worse, especially in the case of those who are too poor to travel elsewhere, to resort to non-medical back-alley practitioners, coat hangers, purportedly abortion-inducing drugs (which may or may not be as advertised), and other methods to get rid of the fetus. All of which endanger the health of the woman.

New York and California liberals, as you call them, may not care about the fetus, but they sure as heck care about the adult women in Louisiana, West Virginia, and Georgia, who want an abortion, and who could die as a result of seeking relief anywhere except a sterile hospital under the care of a licensed physician.

In short, you may be correct when you say, "They don't care about an unborn life." But you would be incorrect when you say that that is their only concern. They care about the woman who, under the laws of those states, is basically forced outside the medical profession, and into the hands of those who may not know what they are doing, and could kill her.

It’s important to people in those states!

Because, believe it or not, your views are not those of EVERYONE in those states. Pro Choice means each person has the right to choose for themselves. Anti Choice means the state government gets to choose for ALL.

Why are you concerned about what other people choose? Does it effect you directly or infringe on your freedom? If not, their choices are none of your business.

Abortion could become illegal in the U.S. again.

Justices Kavanaugh, Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch are four likely votes to overturn Roe vs Wade.

Chief Justice Roberts?

Earlier in his career, Roberts filed a brief asserting the 1973 Roe had been wrongly decided and urging its reversal.

WV has made no attempt to overturn it.

Close down all the abortion clinic's and abortions will continue unabated, and Trump is smart enough to know that. You can now order DIY abortion kits online. Saves wear and tear on your car to go to an abortion clinic.

Row vs Wade could absolutely be overturned by the current court. People thinking otherwise are in denial. Will it be? No one can know at this time. But, in the years since the Roe vs Wade decision, science has not been able to provide a clear definitive answer to the question, When does personhood begin? It has shown that, though medical advances fetuses can survive outside the womb at considerably earlier stages ( as early as 22 weeks). Still lacking objective evidence of the point at which a fetus becomes “a person”, leaves the issue widely up to interpretation. And, with a conservative majority, some of whom may accept their religious beliefs to influence their thinking, it is very possible that we will see Roe vs Wade overturned. This is just one reason why many people, when casting their vote for president, think primarily in terms of what type of person would the candidate likely nominate for the Supreme Court. The Court has the ultimate power in our country, not the president. So, elections have consequences. To all those pro choice folks who either voted for a Trump or didn’t vote at all, this is a possible consequence of that decision.

People in Syria are persons also. I'm not going to vote for someone that doesn't understand that.

Alan Dershowitz says otherwise.

Opponents of the law will challenge it in Federal District Court. A district court judge has no choice but to apply Roe v. Wade because that is the current law, and district court judges are bound by Supreme Court precedents. The same is true for the United States Court of Appeals. So the law will likely be struck down by the district court and that decision will be upheld by the court of appeals. The state of Alabama will then seek a writ of certiorari —a discretionary decision that requires four justices to agree to take the case. It is unlikely that four judges will vote to hear the case unless they are assured there is a fifth justice to constitute a majority.

The irony with the right is so rich.

I'm downright tired of liberals and Democrats pushing THEIR agenda on the rest of us.
The law: individuals control their own bodies and get to decide what happens or doesn't happen. You are not forced to be pregnant or not be pregnant.

Right Wing Nuts: "That's so wrooooong!11! How dare you impose your agenda for freedom and allow people to make decisions about themselves! We won't stand for that!! We will force OUR agenda of no choice and legislate you/your body, just the way it should be!"
