Default Trump targets social media companies with executive order after Twitter fact-checks his tweets

So the fool did it. I'm not a Democrat or Republican, but this guy is going off the deep end. He's a thin-skinned individual who doesn't need to President. What a big baby. Twitter should ban his idiotic account - it won't be missed.

"President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order cracking down on “censorship” by social media sites, a move widely seen by critics as retaliation against Twitter’s decision to slap fact-checking labels on the president’s tweets.

The executive order targets companies granted liability protections through Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Without congressional action, however, there are limits to what Trump can do with the executive order."

Trump should have been banned from Twitter a long time ago for his mean tweets and blatant lies. The only reason they didn't was because he was the president, so they cut him miles of slack. It's about time Trump was put in his place and made to honor the terms of service.

His base has had him under pressure for a long time to do this. I am sure this was just a stunt to appear to be doing something. It wouldn't stand up if challenged.

If you don't like Twitter's restrictions, find another company or make one yourself.

That is the capitalist way.

I can't wait until 2025, when he leaves public service and is free to start his own media empire!

Several years ago I may have agreed with you when forums were generally small like C-D, and there were many like them. But a few of these "forums" have gotten so big, they are more like utilities than forums... And able to literally control communications around the world.

We may need to rethink that model.

Then will the Trumpies stop whining about the "lamestream media"?

This is the focus for Trump and Rubio, shouldn't they be more concerned with how they will find and distribute solutions to COVID-19. Honest to god we are in a middle of a pandemic and he's worried about his Twitter account.

Trump is probably the stupidest president the US has ever had. First he picked a fight with the Washington Post and New York Times, now he is picking a fight with Twitter and Facebook? Political candidates usually court the media, not antagonize it.

I think this is the end of the Tweety administration.
