I was watching the Chiefs game for a short time and then saw the stupid “Black Lives Matter” idiocy in the endzone. It’s not sitting with me at all. I shut the damn thing off.

Anytime ratings drop with sports it HAS to be political... Meanwhile tv in general is down. Mind you the previous game had Dallas who is a huge ratings draw. People love to see them win and the rest love to see them lose.

Yeah Sunday Night's marquee Week 2 game was down 3 million viewers from last year's. A few games for Fox did well, but overall it was down again.

3 points. These numbers will be revised upwards.

(1) A few markets didn't report yet. So the numbers will go up.

(2) New to this year they count you in the ratings if you watch at a restaurant or bar, etc. This should make ratings surge above 2019 because they didn't count viewers outside the home, but it hasn't.

(3) Another nearly 1 million unsold tickets compared to last year's games should make ratings go up. They aren't.

Philly took on Atlanta last year in the Sunday night game, this year was Seattle hosting New England. Not sure which should have done better. Both were close games so I don't know. I know ratings in general and not just sports have declined the last few years.

NFL ratings had been up for 2 straight years.

Cable news ratings have been up and up too.

Monday night the NFL had a good ratings game, but Sunday and Thursday were mostly down.

Don't forget they changed new to this year how they count ratings and it inflates it. People in restaurants with the game on can count now. Plus a million or so unsold tickets every week frees up more fans to watch the games on TV and be counted in the ratings.
