A lot of the men that's bald, fat and/or short etc. try and talk about how great they are personality wise and how they would be so good to a woman that gave them a chance. If the situation is the reverse and it's a woman they don't even want to hear that garbage from her.

My brother in law is short, fat, and bald and I only wish I could find a guy as awesome as he is. He's not as physically attractive as my sister, but there's definitely more to attraction and compatability than your looks.

Coincidentally, I have a short, fat female friend who is balding and has a very attractive boyfriend.
I once read that we see our selves as more attractive in our heads. Mirrors also don't help because they reverse your face, so the face you see in the mirror is not the face everyone else sees.
Actually I've thought of another reason that mirrors aren't a help. I could stand to lose a few pounds, ahem, but when I look in the mirror I see myself as of normal weight. Then I'll catch a glimpse in a shop window or a photo and be very flabbergasted at how fat I look. I've come to realize that each morning as I get dressed I arrange myself to see my best advantage and I'm sure I do that with my face too. And then I can only see the front of any part of me. I could arrange a few mirrors to see the sides and profile and all but I must say that I have never bothered as I don't really want to know. I know I've seen some photos that I did not think look like me though, or at least I hope they don't, lol.
