Sting was your one true love - aren't you glad you dodged that bullet now? I read about him and his wife Trudy and their 24-hr tantric sex sessions. Gag! He is still one of pop music's best lyricists, though.

I loved Roxy Music - and followed Bryan Ferry's solo career too. Duran Duran was referred to as the 'Fab Five' for a reason - hit machine! I loved the stuff they did with the spin out groups too, Arcadia and Power Station.

You've got embarrassing shower stories, I've got embarrassing girl band stories - see reply above to LC!
I was obsessed with that Jane Wiedlin video for a while LOL. And I've always thought John Taylor never got enough credit for his basslines in Duran Duran. Besides being fine as ****.

And yes, I'm glad Sting threw me over for Trudy. I like sex, but 24 hours??

I copied Belinda Carlisle's "Mad About You" look, with the big earrings and those sunglasses, for about a year. I remember she had lost a lot of weight after she left the Go-Go's and people were like .

Embarrassing memory of the day: I was belting it out along with Save a Prayer , which was on the radio while I was in the shower one morning, and my dad started banging on the bathroom door yelling at me to hurry up and get out, that I wasn't on American Top 40.

Oi, I have a lot of embarrassing shower stories.

Roxy Music!!
Awwwwwwww I've not ever seen the fascination with singing in the shower .... Well not songs anyway

The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds remains in the top five albums of all time in popular music. Do you remember which song it was? In My Room was among my favorites but after Bowie's rendition of God Only Knows, I decided that was my all time fave BB song.

I think " I get around " ... lol quite fitting that I found that one fascinating even at that age 😈😂

Ohhhh I've not heard of the go gos before nor have it heard of your shower stories either?

I loved genesis in the 80s as well plus pet shop boys have at least 5 songs that I love from that era

The 80s, when MTV had music.

Yes when I was 18 ( 2003 ) there was a local nightclub that held an " 80s night " ... it's was brilliant! I went on eBay and bought a vintage yellow Lacoste izod polo shirt ( slim fitted ), put an old pair of blue 501s in a hot wash about a dozen times to get that authentic stonewash effect and wore black loafers with NO socks ( don Johnson )

It was great because a lot of " old " blokes where there that I knew from the area including a few of my dads mates, the banter between the " old " and " young " was fabulous and they was like " here you go son we'll show you how it's done properly ( like back in their day ) "

We were all dancing like in them videos above .... well I tried anyway but I watched " the terminator " specially to study that club scene

Yes you're damn right! I called that the white girl dance, but I think it's probably called something else officially. Maybe Dancing in the Dark, after Courteney Cox's appearance on the stage in Springsteen's video? I also still do stuff like the snake, the cabbage patch, the running man, and the Roger Rabbit - these parts there's all kinds and we share.

John Taylor was my favorite and my now ex hub looked a lot like him. Go figure - he also had a bass guitar, and wanted to be in an all male band with his friends before we met...ha!

I just got another pair of the Ray Ban's that Belinda wore in that video, and I actually call them Belinda Carlisle sunglasses. Yes, she lost that chub and ended posing for Playboy as well. Her singing got a bit better too, after she went solo. I think this all happened around the time she married James Mason's son, Morgan.
