It was sunny and windy here today, with a high around 63F. The dew point was in the 20s this morning, but I’m not sure what it was during the day. The dew point was definitely low(for here any way) and low humidity too.

It is currently 52F, and the low tonight is 47F.

Man, if only we could've gotten this pattern in January or February. It would've been so epic!

But now is better than never, so I won't complain.

Lowest temperatures today:

Göle: -2.3°C

Ardahan: -1.1°C

Edremit: 8.7°C (my location)

Somewhere in Gümüşhane Province had the coldest low in Turkey today with -7.7°C.

Somewhere in Mersin Province had the warmest low in Turkey today with 19.4°C.

Lowest temperatures in Turkey today differ from -7.7°C to 19.4°C.

Had a few days of more seasonal temps, around 13-14C (57F) , which is still on the cooler side for late April, but feels pretty warm in the sun. But tomorrow the pattern will flip back to the nasty cold trough. And the GFS just shows that pattern is gonna keep going and going.... with no actual spring warmth in sight.

Hard to imagine that in a month it should almost be summer, because here it feels like we have been in a late fall kind of weather since October ( like 5-9C / 40sF most of the time, warmer periods only last a few days at a time) . Literally no real winter, and now no real spring.

Oh and something is definitely going on with the jet stream since around 2015, thats about the time when seasons stopped working here. It stays locked in weird patterns for long periods, and that causes massive temperature anomalies. April 2020 doesn't feel that much different than January 2020 for example. And last year... the end of April was warmer than mid July.....

Once sea temps run away there will be no more jet stream at all. Out past 70 years this will be a whole new world for the worse. Blazing mid 90's for FL today. All the proof is going on now as what is to come.
