There was a time when "Orientals" was THE word, and it didn't offend. That changed, though.
By no means is "Oriental" offensive. The British I believe still use the word "Orientals" to refer to the East and SE Asians. "Asians" in the UK would refer to South Asians (India, Pakistan, other Asian countries that the UK once colonized).

'Oriental' is archaic in the US and Australia. It's probably mildly offensive, but just not something you hear very often anymore.

I've also seen white guys, usually of the more low-class variety, marry Mexican women, treat them the same way, yet generally want to avoid Mexicans.
I guess it has to do with how one wants to "perceive" their spouse as a part of their lives.

Sure, of course, don't need to tell us, most pairings regardless of race are (supposedly) for love (although many pairings within race aren't really for love but getting off tangent).
But in some cases, there's an element of veiled superiority behind some of these fetishes. Like you say, these men choose Asian women because they think they are servants or that they can easily boss them around. Typically older men and mail order brides from poorer countries but even Asian Westerners. Just be aware that this exist, and it isn't all that uncommon with some of these pairings.
So very true. And many Asian women play up the "stereotype" because they know that's what some white men are seeking when they look for Asian women.
The important thing is staying married. It won't matter if AM/WF, WM/AF, etc get married unless they can stay married...having to deal with in-laws is a big deal too as well as cultural issues...though to a lesser extent in America. With divorce rates rising in Asia, you might be better off staying home than going abroad to find love. Just roll the dice baby!!!

This is true as well.
The name Strom Thurmond comes to mind. There is a hidden old "tradition" of Southern White men who have Black mistresses and children on the side. By "tradition" these men were obligated to financially take care of this "side" family just as Strom Thurmond did with his Black daughter. So he was attempting to take away the rights of Black Americans in his public political life while (financially) caring for and paying for his Black daughter to attend college.

what are you saying? that guys dont have any preference, or that they prefer everyone except asians? if the latter then i think you're dead wrong.

'East Indian' kind of ignores Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans.
