Why can't we be more like XXXX."

If there's one thing Savannah does NOT have, it's a lack of identity, sense of place and CIVIC PRIDE! People actually LOVE this city and LOVE living here -- warts and all. I don't get that impression from ANYBODY in Augusta. It's all negative "what ifs" or pipe dreams with you people.

AND LMAO: Augusta is going to be the next Charlotte?! OMIG! Northguy keep on smoking whatever it is you're smoking ... or taking bribes from the A-RC chamber of commerce to spread this crap!
Are you serious??? You live in Savannah, but somehow claim to know how the majority of residents in Augusta feel, who works for the chamber of commerce, how many peple have civic pride, etc lol.. I think you need to read your 2:33 am comment again(sounded like it came from the president of the Savannah chamber), and please don't make misguided accusations.. You sound similar to the other trolls on our forum.. I do notice there's tons of more people from the other 2nd tier cities in our forum... Compared to people who live in Augusta posting in their forums..

I think you need to realize plenty of people do love Augusta... Look at the number of people who responded after your 2:33 am comment.. Let's not try to act like there's not a group of people who are negative in Savannah. There's a thread called 'Is Savannah really that bad'' with 179 replies..

Nobody from Augusta goes into the other forums and starts telling people how fast the city is growing.. Why?? We don't live in Columbus, Macon, Savannah, etc and don't see the construction on a daily basis..

I guess the US Census is smoking and works for the ARC chamber of commerce too lol. Among the five largest metros in Georgia, Augusta had the best economy overall in the last two years.. The 115 acre Village at Riverwatch underway(started a few months ago) in West Augusta is a figment of our imagination.. The first store is Costco(first outside of metro Atlanta) and imagine the other retail/restaurants, etc.. The VAR is to 2-3 miles from the Augusta mall, Augusta Exchange, Surrey Center, and Carmax area(wheeler town park)..

2009 Percent Change: Augusta .9%, Columbus .6%, Macon -.3%, Savannah -.5%, Atlanta -3.1%

2010 Percent Change: Columbus 4.1%, Augusta 4%, Savannah 3.1%, Macon 2.5%, Atlanta 2.4%

2009 Personal Income: Columbia 26,418: Greensboro 24,980: Knoxville 23,713: Charleston 23,297: Greenville 21,370: Augusta 18,122: Chattanooga 17,701: Winston Salem 16,970: Huntsville 15,588: Savannah 13,157: Mobile 12,713: Columbus 10,709: Macon 7,968

2010 Personal Income: Columbia 27,022: Greensboro 25,774: Knoxville 24,624: Charleston 24,193: Greenville 22,147: Augusta 18,854: Chattanooga 18,464: Winston Salem 17,447: Huntsville 16,148: Savannah 13,564: Mobile 13,195: Columbus 11,149: Macon 8,165

The employees of the US Census have to be smoking something.. Augusta is tied with Hunstville for the fastest growing economy overall among in the last two years..

1. Huntsville 1.3%
2. Augusta .9%
3. Columbus .6%

9. Greensboro -.9%
10. Greenville -1.6%

Can we please go back to what the thread was about in the first place? If your not interested in reading what is happening in Augusta....and come here to just be destructive and chaotic, please go back to your forum in which you reside and "troll" there.

You misrepresent yourself and your town poorly. If your the average Savannah resident..I wouldn't want to move there also. Focus on YOUR town. Anyone who is constantly looking over their shoulder has something to worry about or feels they do. Srsly, who care's if 2000 people moved to your city or Augusta in the past year. Go make your community the best it can be and be productive.

The progress along Reynolds Street in the CBD continues.. The former 15k WJBF property was sold last week...

The 125k sq. ft. Fort Discovery building is now under contract.. Too much potential especially for the Fort Discovery space which is right ontop of the Riverwalk.

I think we should keep our growth to ourselves.. It's better to sneak up on cities who don't see it coming.. People easily forget were the 7th best place to live in the US this year...

Any guesses as to who/what bought the space or what it will be used for Nort? Kinda surprised this hasn't been as newsworthy as it should be, considering it's size and Fort Discovery leaving... interesting to hear. Good news though, hopefully.

Saw the article in the Chronicle just now referring to Reynolds Street and the WJBF/Fort Discovery property...

One thing I saw is the ever shrinking Hyatt Place hotel plans... Started out possibly 12 stories, then was settled on 8 and now is in the plans at 7 stories. Augusta picked the wrong economy to get proactive with all these projects...

Is there a BPS in a building like that anywhere else? That would be a first for them I believe... I dunno, but I'd take it.

Is it written somewhere in the Georgia state constitution that no two cities can have the same things? Once again, why are you intentionally stirring up crap here when it is TOTALLY unnecessary? You are being a straight-up, bonafide TROLL here.

This is not a Savannah thread, so I don't even know how it's relevant here. Again, what is your purpose for posting all of this relative to this thread?
