I felt SO drawn to move that I sold, gifted, recycled or trashed almost all my belongings. Stored a few grocery bags full of stuff at a good friend's house in Silicon Valley and hopped on the plane with 1 suitcase, 1 backpack and 1 carry-on. Ahhhhh yes feels great being light. Though there will be rebuying of some stuff needed at some point, like bike, guitar, massage table, eventually furniture. The purging felt awesome and appropriate though...recommended
Hey I was right!

So you have attachment issues

Buddhist travel light as well...they don't have attachment issues.

Silly joke:

Q: Why does a Buddhist not own a vacuum?

A: Because they carry too many attachments

We did much the same going-on four years ago. We sold, gave away and donated most of our furniture keeping only antiques, some of which had been in my famly for ages. We also divested ourselves of many other belongings and our rather extensive, professional work wardrobes went to clothes closets for those trying to re-enter the job market. Then it was throw the two cats into the car along with a few suitcases, drive 2,000 miles to our just purchased, modest lakeside home in the Ozarks, furnish and appoint it and enjoy our retirements. Nearing our mid-60s at the time, we deserved it. Come to think of it, we still do.

As for you, enjoy as well!

My dad got rid of his wardrobe. Kept one suit for jury duty or funerals. He didn't move to Missouri though.

Take in Branson any?

Live about 22 miles south of it. Shop there perioidically and take-in some shows now and then. It's also where the closest hospital and most of the doctors are located. Even though we don't live there we still get resident discounts all over at restaurants, theaters and many stores. Life is good!

Branson seems cool. Wouldn't mind visiting sometime.

I think you could just about step over into Arkansas should the locals come for ya though. That's only if you take up moonshinin as a hobby though.

Took a quick virtual visit to Branson:

One time my grandpa and grandma were moonshinin in Kansas in the basement of a house in the early '30s. Grandma went up and looked out the window and saw the sheriff beating down the road towards the house. Grandma yelled down to Grandpa that the cops were on the way. Grandpa told Grandma to answer the door, and be polite. Fortunately they asked directions to the next house on down a mile or so and didn't search the house.

You might try to stay cool also if your stills hidden well enough.
