No longer on the outskirts, but here in Charlotte.
Almost near completion on Wilkinson Blvd vicinity of the Walmart, just west of Ashley Road.
Glad to see Popeyes finally appearing in the Charlotte region. They have a good product and will definitely be competition for Bojangle's. Now I just want a Roy Rogers. Stopped recently at Hagerstown, MD store on the way back from PA. Right off I-81 exit. Great roast beef, good food and service. And they have good chicken also.

I doubt that'll happen. They're a strictly Northern company.

Well Jack in the Box is a West coast company and they expanded across the country into the Carolinas. But Roy Rogers has locations in Virginia which is a neighboring state to NC, so only one state removed. And they used to have a Roy Rogers in Greensboro. So not just a Northern company. And they are looking to expand again.
At this point is any company going to limit themselves to only one region? So long as it is profitable, companies will expand to wherever they think money is to be made. Roy Rogers is fine and all but I really don't call about having another burger joint.
Actually, KFC has become garbage. They used to be able to fill a bucket with 10-12 pc's of chicken. Now the pieces have become so miniscule in size, I can't waste my time or money going there.
Popeyes was "one and done" in my book back when I lived in NoVA. Their food didn't do it for me.
We used to go to Bojangles when we used to spend weekends at Carowinds campground before moving here. The chicken was pretty good. Now it's hit or miss, so we don't bother.
Zaxby's has pretty good chicken strips, but they closed their Mooresville location a few years back. Now the only time we eat it is when we are in Statesville.
The thing I really miss here (being from NJ) are the places like Chicken Holiday and Chicken Delight. Now that was some GOOOOOOOD stuff! It seriously shames these other chains like KFC, Popeyes and Bo's.
