LOL. While what you said about the demographics is true, you've had an April 2009 join date. Just wondering, you ever go into a thread and answer the question with something other than "New York hands down"?

That is literally your answer to everything. NYC does top most cities that is true. Except hotdogs which Chicago beats NYC in which I know to be true because you had a meltdown on a Chicago vs NYC hotdog thread which was very entertaining.

Both cities and metros are in close proximity Southern United States, but prior to the 2010 census, both were #1 and #2 in Black population. Both cities have had an effect on the African American community, and both cities were very much influenced by the Black community.

Which city and metro area is more culturally black?

5 cities with the highest Black populations:

July 1st 2018 U.S. Census estimates

New York City : 2,040,898

Chicago : 825,328

Philadelphia : 692,268

Houston : 532,540

Detroit : 532,076

5 metro areas with the highest Black populations 2017:

New York metropolitan : 3,174,597

Atlanta metropolitan : 1,967,414

Chicago metropolitan: 1,551,997

Washington DC metropolitan: 1,542,751

Philadelphia metropolitan: 1,242,790

Miami 1,244,398, Houston 1,161,384, Detroit 955,551, Dallas 1,044,365

Numbers from two years back, I believe DC jumped Chicago and is now 3rd as of today.

Nobody asked you to respond.

This is a response to a list of black population by city, this list is by metro (which the OP states). And I'm not sure what made you single out DC as this is a list.

Carry on.
