The problem that it comes down to just two teams, which is patently unfair to the five or six other teams that get left out of the title hunt that otherwise would have a shot if there were a rational alternative in place.

It's obviously more complicated than that, but one loss does majorly factor into it. Not sure many know how the computers work...even the coaches don't really know...lol

So some general odds and ends. totally jacked up for my Hoo-Hokie game this weekend.
Across the country. Gotta give some love to Charlie Strong at L'Ville. He is quite undermanned talent wise yet they are bowl eligible in what was supposed to be a major rebuilding year. Great coach. I say the same about Doug Marrone at Syracuse weither or not they make a bowl. He has MASSIVE problems with talent gaps and injuries. If he makes a bowl, wow!
Word on the street is that Rich Rod is heading to the desert.

If this is true, and rich rod gets a decent DC. WOW, what a hire by Arizona AD Greg Byrne. Those Wildcats are SERIOUS about being a two team school and not taking any guff from the ptichfork bunch upstate.

Civil War!!!!
Gonna squash the Beavs in anger over blowing that SC game. Here is what many Beaver fans tend to do after Duck victories (there's language). It must really suck to be a Beaver. You can't spell l oser without OS.

1917 against Penn 14-0
Rose Bowl is great to me. Sure, it would have been nice to see us in the NC again, but this is all a building process. We are starting to build an elite program and getting to BCS bowls yearly is all apart of it. I do not think we are quite at the level we will be in a few years. We have some monster recruits coming in and are in on many of the 5 star beasts. Shoot, even that LSU fan, Chickenfried (the most level headed SEC fan I've ever heard) recognizes it. These are exciting times.
Besides, it's the Rose Bowl! Growing up in L.A. in a USC family, the RB was a tradition every Jan 1. However, we have to win it this year. I can see some serious damage to our cred if we lose this year. If we are fortunate to win the RB, it will set up our run for the Natty next year. We should be top 3 next year. We have some serious speed at receiver (Sumler, Blackmon, Kelley, Huff, Vaughan) next year, and our young defense will be better. And we return Barner, DAT, and Carson in the backfield. Heck, who knows, we may even have a more complete QB to run our Zone Read Option attack.
Next year, I think we will play Alabama in the Natty and win that mutha. Go Ducks!!!
