This is the natural trend with our demographics nationwide but CT seems like it may be in worse shape as many of its brightest young population find careers elsewhere. Who will buy all those expensive homes in the far out suburbs as more and more boomers sell.

That above is a list of the distressed communities from the map you just posted in the Poverty in CT thread. I'm not sure why you posted it here.

"Connecticut employers had a net loss of 1,400 positions in May, a month that was weak for job creation nationally.?

"The jobs report, released Thursday by the Connecticut Department of Labor, also revised April's job creation figure slightly downward, from 3,500 to 3,200.

"Connecticut still has fewer jobs than it did before the job market began declining in March 2008. It needs 25,200 more jobs to get back to the jobs base the state had eight years ago. The nation as a whole reached that milestone in June 2014."

"All these things suggest an economy moving sideways more than anything else," said Don Klepper-Smith, an economist at DataCore Partners.

Retail jobs were the biggest drag in the state's economy in May, with a loss of 2,700 jobs. The sector that includes temporary agencies was the second weakest, with 1,500 fewer positions than in April.
