The NFL has suspended the blackout rule on an annual basis since 2016. That isn't a factor anymore.

Ironically the Yankees (and Mets) are I believe the only MLB teams left that still show a few (I want to say 20) games a year on "free" TV, both on WPIX channel 11.

I agree, but remember, they love Chick Fil A down South for the owner's hardcore Christianity and conservative activism (though Atlanta is probably the least conservative part of the deep South), and college football is a much bigger deal down there than in the Northeast.

Getting a team approved was far easier a quarter century ago.
Have to say I agree with this. And Buffalo got and lost an NBA team back in the 70s as well......(Cincinnati lost their NBA team even earlier, moving to the similarly sized market of Kansas City in 1972, a market I forgot about in these comparisons (they wouldn't get a team now either), but then they moved from there to Sacramento). "Milwaukee's" NFL team is actually the Green Bay Packers (though from 1933 to 1994 they actually did play a couple of home games a year in Milwaukee) and is only there (both Green Bay or if you consider it to be the Milwaukee market) because of "tradition". Another one of "those markets" I forgot about is New Orleans.

If the Bills said they'll move to Hartford if we foot the bill for a new stadium for them, should we do it?

There's probably zero chance of this happening. The Bills have actually been good the last couple of years and have a star young QB. So that makes it much, much easier to get a new stadium. Also, threatening to leave is the oldest trick in the playbook (see Robert Kraft) but 9 times out of 10 the owner is bluffing.

And that "star young QB" just signed a 6 year extension today.....

no. won't happen.

If the Pats didn't want Hartford, The Bills will not move there.

For now, CT is still Patriots territory. I would love Hartford to get their own team. But will it happen? No.

CT is Patriot’s territory? Not quite true.

The two counties in CT that have 55% of the state’s population root for the NY Giants. Granted this was 8 years ago, but the migration of NYers to CT since certainly only skewed that in favor of NY teams.

When its all said and done and they come to Hartford and the new Amica Mutual Dome, they'll need to change the name. Bills only works with Buffalo.

NY/Bos territory. I just don't see how a new NFL team would be feasible. Younger/Native CT'ers route for Pats, and transplanted New Yorkers go Giants/Jets.

I just can't see how Hartford would support a new NFL team. It would be nice, but, cities like St. Louis, Mexico City or even Oakland could better support a team. I also cannot see the Bills moving from Buffalo. Upstate right up to the Albany area where you start seeing more Pats/NY fans, has tremendous Bills support. My biggest concern is population and existing fanbase support.

Its all marketing. Hartford wouldnt even crack my top 20 places to even consider. Someone mentioned Austin. Fastest growing metropolitan ara in the country with a lot of transplants. That might actually be my first place to go to.

Nice one. "The Cols take on their bitter rivals the Pats on Monday night football"
Hartford Travelers (that won't go over too well for the NBA team)
Hartford Hellion (they could come running out of the tunnel to the Hellion song, get the crowd fired up)
Hartford Minutemen
There was a CBA team the Hellcats
