Only for the first few episodes were filmed in GA, they moved production to CA. I still remember watching it a few times as a kid and seeing the landscape, trees and etc that looked too similar to CHiPs that I use to watch as well.

Deliverance was mostly filmed in GA and Burt Reynolds is a local staple around here. Smokey and the Bandit was filmed in GA as well, some parts were filmed in Jupiter at his ranch.

Yes, that is right. After the fifth episode it was moved to Warner Bros. studio in Burbank.

As a school kid in the early 80's in the Los Angeles area I recall riding the bus to school one day and seeing the General Lee (car) on the back of a truck on the freeway. They were transporting it for some exterior scenes being shot at the Paramount Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Been there done that already...I lived in Manhattan for 2 years right out of school and worked for a big firm, was a great experience but it wasn't something I wanted for the long haul, I go to there regularly for business though...

Nothing wrong with being a country boy or Fl native and being proud of it. They were here way before the onslaught of migration from the north. Many of them resent transplants and I cant blame them. Most country folk are laid back, generous, and know how to have a good time.

Most of the people who claim to be natives do not have much history in the state compared to someone who is a native of the Northeast, I know people who have family history in PA back to 1600's, yet they are not parading around with bumper stickers saying "PA Native" or "PAGrown" in a lame attempt to combat the influx of people moving in from NY/NJ which is happening more so now than it was when I lived there.

People I met who are natives here, tend to be born here but their parents were from elsewhere, Northeast often. Occasionally you might meet someone who can trace back to their Great Grandfather within the state, but most of Florida was not populated or had much population till the 1930's.
