I made carnitas on Sunday night and have been using the leftovers in everything. Had them with sauerkraut pierogis and sour cream tonight.

Tonight we had pork chops with mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, biscuits, and fresh corn. Desert was fresh strawberries with angel food cake and cool whip. Hubby also had a tomato sliced with Miracle Whip on it.

I had a bacon cheeseburger thing earlier with friends; We decided to go to the highest-rated burger joint in the county for their jalapeno bacon cheese burger.

It was gross. I could only get through half of the burger and about two of the fries. Dessert was out of the question after that giant gut-bomb.

Attempting to eat that, and realising I was surrounded by people who ate like this every day, gave me insight into why I am now living in one of the fattest states in the nation.

Tonight I will make as we say in German a false rabbit...a meatloaf flavored with dill, parsley, salt.pepper, onion, soaked bread in milk,2 eggs and in the center as decoration a hard boiled peeled egg. When one slices the meatloaf,it looks so attractive to see the sliced egg with the slice of meatloaf. With it we will have garlic mashed potatoes,,baby carrots in melted Tarragon butter, garlic saute french string beans.
For dessert lemon sherbet with some hot chocolate poured over it
To drink we have ice cold sour lemon/lime water. ...A German saying...,,Sauer macht lustig''...sour makes happy
