The cherry chocolate chili turned out really good!

This time of year, a big batch of chili in the crockpot is heaven to come home to on a cold Friday night.

My honey got home early enough that we could go to a place called The Thirsty Camel and meet two other couples and have a wonderful visit and good food at a very reasonable price.

I had a burger and potato wedges and he has the biggest shrimp I've ever seen, baked potato and the salad bar and we each had an iced tea.
$30.00 total which included the tip.

Today I will be making lamb chops with chive and garlic mashed potatoes and green beans.

EDIT: Possibly change taters to rice

I have no idea; we get the new fridge this morning and then it is off to the grocery store for the first real shopping in a couple of weeks. Add to the fridge coming it is supposed to reach close to 40 degrees today: almost summer like to us right now. Well, I would love to take advantage of the sunshine and do a grilled steak, but we can't find the grill, it is buried in snow. I guess we will have to settle for something cooked on the griddler or maybe I will take ribs out and do them in the oven. We still have a lot of stuff in our freezer in the garage.

Yesterday was to tired to cook so an Aldi cheese pizza topped with left over sausage.

Today I am going to do that smoked pork shoulder in the oven because dying to have Sunday breakfast of a smoked pulled pork omelet that someone mentioned earlier.

What main dish I will make with the smoked shoulder will be either a Brazilian dish called Feijoada (black bean rice dish with smoked shoulder and collard greens)

or Mac and cheese with smoked pulled pork.

Other remaining leftovers I'll freeze until I think of other ways to use them.

Spaetzle are in the fridge. SO is out of the house and I better get moving. Bread for paper thin roasted garlic bread with crunchy salad greens, boiled egg with capers, crunchy garlic chips. First soup with very thing raw slivers of celery and creeps filled with a farce of veal/cream/herbs, baked and sliced. One of my freezer staples Chicken and mushrooms in paprika cream, grilled asparagus. Pear tartes, vanilla ice cream, nuts and dried fruit.
I would love to use the new square plates but have no chargers. No placemats or table cloths as the table is too pretty to hide. Personally I like Wilton platters as chargers as you can heat them and small cork coasters keep the table safe.
Enough prattling. Have a great Saturday - I get to play today and have willing folks to feed. Only one is the food-is-bad-species.
