The wife canned 18 pints of 4 bean salad. We still have a lot of beans left to harvest this summer.

My garden hasn't been watered--no time due to family emergencey--and now I have at least one tomato splitting. Then, last night when I took the dog out after dark, I couldn't resist climbing into the garden in the dark to pick a tomato and I dislocated an entire branch of ripening tomatoes, Oh well, this hasn't been a good year for me. Carry on, happy gardening.

Yeah, you need to care for yourself right now. You have many gardens in your future, this one can wait.

My wife picked some peas last night-

These were broadcast in my corn patch as a cover crop- just growing wild. Interestingly they are doing really well without a trellis! They grab a hold of the taller grasses and just spread out. Apparently my wife is hell bent on harvesting them. Personally I hate shelling peas. Loathe it actually. A lot of work for little bounty.

Having a fence installed around the irrigated part of our property. Not to keep my 4 dogs in- TO KEEP THEM OUT!! The little DK girls have a penchant for digging the grass, eating ANY foliage hanging over or through the garden fence- just little terrorists. Not to mention all the pee and constant high speed traffic around the house has destroyed what lawn I've managed to create.

NO MORE!

I am absolutely amazed at how many veggies I'm getting from the garden this year. It's been non stop beans, tomatoes, egg plant, zukes, yellow squash, and various peppers.

A far cry from previous years when I would barely get a serving of anything. I even have 2 watermelon.
