I've been noticing a lot of people coming back home (Nj/Ny) after moving to the sunbelt.
Some people just don't realize what they have until it's gone. You gain a strong mysterious love for your home, whether you know it or not.

There have been multiple threads started with a link to that article. I know people on city data seem to hate the Sunbelt, but enough is enough.

I think the people living in the Sunbelt are just as happy, thanks (and I have no plans on moving back to Chicago).

Perhaps massive population growth (like negative growth) is a big problem, but when the economy is not in the best shape, it is never great news.

I was talking to a clerk here in Naples, who saw my Long Island tshirt, and she said she was from the Hudson Valley. I told her that was a beautiful area of NY. She said, yes, it is and that she and her husband regretted moving to Florida.

I lived here before, and KNEW what it was like to miss NY, and family. Just waiting for the right time to move back. I am in NY with my daughter for the Holidays. I SO do not want to go BACK to Florida.

Add the very high unemployment here, it doesn't surprise me people are leaving.

I agree, I know many people and I have relatives that are now Sunbelters, they haven't looked back (except when they come back to see family/friends). I haven't moved to the Sunbelt (yet) but I know I'd be the same way.
