I try to stay off Garth road if at all possible. It's usually pretty easy to take N. Main instead depending on where you're headed.

Welcome to the Dirty Bay! If you need restaurant recommendations or have any general questions I'll do my best to help.

Mandres,

Yep, no question. Garth Rd. is a drag. One of my staffers said, "People in Baytown drive like Houston drivers but without the skills." I had to laugh at that. Given the number of wrecks.

We've discovered Pipeline Grill and Baytown Seafood in terms of local places. Would love a recommendation for good Mexican food, though.

OH!! And a bigger question, daycare. We've never been in a school without aftercare. Although he's in the fifth grade, this is still a big change for him, and until he feels settled, I'd feel more comfortable with him in daycare. Any suggestions on that front?

I like El Toro too. There's a good El Salvadorian place next to it called El Rey that's one of our favorites. Ricky's Thick n' Juicy is my favorite burger joint anywhere, including Houston.

I've never used daycare in B-town so I can't be much help there, sorry.

Tortugas, on I-10 just west of Garth Rd., in front of the mall.

C and D grocery has really good breakfast tacos and other food.
Hole in the wall, but a Baytown institution.
