Aside from the city newspaper, MSU used to, and probably still has assorted ways to find a roommate. There were at least a couple dedicated pin-up bulletin boards (the old-fashioned kind with 3x5 cards and push-pins!), ads in the student newspaper, and an off-and-on service thru Student Affairs. You didn't have to be a student to use 'em. And the local radio stations had free ads, where you just call and offer whatever live on the air. Right after any session break (summer, Xmas, spring break) was always a good time to find a roommate, as students arrived or shifted around looking for better or cheaper situations.

Reziac mentioning radio stations in bozo just made me flash on a 70'a memory from there. There was a radio personality affectionately refered to as "dead air Jerr", because he had an
occasional habit of not getting back to the microphone before the music ended.

Do you mean the guy who did the late afternoon shift on KBMN? the guy who got sacked after he played Tonio K.'s "Merzsuite"?? (a little too alternative even for KBMN at the time

Hey gang,

I was thinking about my wife, and Montana, and wives and Montana, and well...here you go..
Top Ten Reasons Montanans Lose Their Wives

1. "Honey, I know it’s our anniversary, but the Steelers are one win away from the playoffs!"

2."Yes, sure while I’m up in Alaska you can definitely go to that three month Sensuous Dance Institute with Fabio Libido in Venice, Italy!"

3.Design custom built home with 1000 sf living area, 3000 sf shop, and 2000 sf “Man Cave.”

4.Anything involving “Man Cave.”

5.Took beloved to anniversary triple feature: Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Steven Segal.

6.Hire Swedish Au Pair who is 27 and former Miss Scandinavia.

7.Bought wife best earrings in Cabela’s catalog.

8.Keeps carping, “Now, if Sarah Palin can make moose chili and still be Governor of Alaska, why can’t you get dinner on the table when I get home?”

9.“Not now honey, have to finish this woolly bugger.”

10.Now what was that again? Four plays? Never heard of it, but check out this woolly bugger!

Man Cave. I first heard it from my brother in law in San Diego a few years back, then saw it on TV. WTF? I imagine a big sign over the door: NO WOMEN ALLOWED, PLACE BEER AND NACHOS ON FLOOR AND BACK AWAY.

I would have never thought of that concept in a million years.....
