Are there people who are deadbeats and scam the system, of course. But there are many that really do need this. It just seems like they have no problem bailing out all those rich CEO's and banks, but citizens that have worked hard all their lives and in dire straights right now and afraid, because I am and many I know are, they can't do anything. It's very disheartening and makes you never want to vote again, because the people that are suppose to represent and help you don't care.
I am from Minnnesota and was working in North Carolina when I got Laid off. All my so called credits were established in North Carolina. I loved the State. But now I have to wonder about there Law Makers. By the Way I am an interstate collector for my unemployment. Minnesota I am a resident, they have the EB extension and there unemployment rate is 7%. Now if I ever see a North carolinian run for a fedral position I will NOT vote for him or her. This is BOLOGAY!!!!!Spread this around u Law Makers... Attaching a bill to a Fedral Program is BOLOGAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I understand your ambivalence about my home state of North Carolina.
But Minnesota -- a state that elected both Michele Bachmann and Al Franken?!? Just goes to show you the electorate is not monolithic. And neither are the legislators, so I would never make a blanket statement about never voting for ANY citizen of a particular state.

personally I hope they do testing on all welfare recipiants. I remember growing up as a kid just as many people I knew who got food stamps to use just for food got them and sold some.
Welfare and UI are not the same thing
and God forbid some down on their luck
"welfare recipiants" smoke a joint
to release their stress.
Fortunately, you are "better" than that.
