Are there people who are deadbeats and scam the system, of course. But there are many that really do need this. It just seems like they have no problem bailing out all those rich CEO's and banks, but citizens that have worked hard all their lives and in dire straights right now and afraid, because I am and many I know are, they can't do anything. It's very disheartening and makes you never want to vote again, because the people that are suppose to represent and help you don't care.

I understand your ambivalence about my home state of North Carolina.

But Minnesota -- a state that elected both Michele Bachmann and Al Franken?!? Just goes to show you the electorate is not monolithic. And neither are the legislators, so I would never make a blanket statement about never voting for ANY citizen of a particular state.

Fortunately, you are "better" than that.

Also, upon the agenda for the NCGA:

North Carolina General Assembly - Senate Bill 737 Information/History (2011-2012 Session)

Senate Bill 737-First Edition

http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/Sessions...PDF/S737v1.pdf

About the only thing left out was the requirement to wear striped pajamas with a big "U" on the back of the shirt.
