I don't agree or disagree...it's not my business. For all we know, he may not have accepted it. Children of wealthy people receive scholarships all the time and we don't hear about their decision.
Something's fishy here. According to both Scout and Rivals, the relatively short Justin Combs of the non-high school football hotbed of New York is only a two star player.
How's UCLA going to get to the top giving football scholarships to low-rated recruits from lousy football states? Somebody's wasting taxpayer money!
I'm fairly certain UCLA's athletic department, like most large schools, is self funded through revenue from ticket sales, TV revenue, advertising, and donations. There is no taxpayer money involved at all.
As for getting ahead with 2 star players, remember this is UCLA. They haven't been good for a long time. And they have yet another coach. I don't think many 4 and 5 star players want to play for UCLA right now.
Mathguy---UCLA is in the same boat when it comes to preferential treatment for some applicants as Illinois, usually kids of high-profile stars or entertainment/politicial figures.
It's also been the most-applied to university in the nation for 12 or 13 consecutive years IIRC, so it's extremely tough to get in there.
as long as the kid earned the scholarship there is no reason for him to give it back. and since it is an athletic scholarship, it will pay for itself over the years the kid is in school.
You earn your freshman scholarship in hi skool if you want to get technical. Most merit based scholarshops are on a yearly basis. Whoever Li'l Romeo is must have been good enough for two years. What's your point?

Lil Romeo's best buddy in the whole world was a future NBA lottery pick named Demar Derozen. Lil Romeo "earned" his scholly by being Demar's best friend.
Li'l Romeo is the successful rapper son of Percy Miller, another rapper millionaire.
Nope..it was merit based and he earned it having maintained a 3.75 GPA while playing football. Not many football players can attest to that high of a GPA.
Should we ask all those sons of players like Clay Matthews who's uncle and father were both former NFL players give their scholarships back?
Nary a peep was made about all the sons of former NFL players who earned millions over the course of their career to give up their athletic scholarships.
The only difference between these guys and Diddy's son is that Diddy in an entertainer and he probably has more money than them.
