I'm not football expert, but this seems odd. I thought football players were huge. Did he get the scholarship because of his football skills or because his father is a famous celebrity??
No, all football players are NOT huge and this is not odd. It depends on the position played.

He plays corner back where speed is important.

(The shortest player in the NFL is Darren Sproles. He's 5'6".)

If he earned the scholarship, then he earned it.
Period.

Does not matter who his dad is.

Teaching his son that even though you earned the scholarship your father should still pay your way is ridiculous. If his son gets a job at a company and is offered 100k as the starting salary should he turn it down and say "my daddy will pay me"? Is the moral of the story if your parents have money then they should just pay your way through life?

This is stupid. If it's earned then he should be allowed to do whatever the hell he wants to do with it. Anyone who sees different is a moron.

Then why should anyone take your opinion as anything other than a sour grapes, non-football expert on an anonymous forum?

UCLA is not just going to give a scholarship to a football player just because of who his father is. No one is now saying "I am going to get season tickets to Bruins Football because P-Diddy's son is on the team!"

Not if he got it based on merit; his father's checkbook doesn't diminish his accomplishments.

Diddy's kid earned it and should be proud he did so. It's up to his old man if he would like to donate the money back. While I think he should, he certainly doesn't have too.

See how some segments of society view everything from a "need" basis ?
This is really sad.

Everyone is NOT a winner; everyone CANNOT get what they want just because they think they "need" it. Life is not that way no matter how much you whine about it.

I need to see if the Manning Brothers gave back their scholarships first. The Harbaugh's too. I could go down the line. Brian Griese, Cody Grimm, the Hasselbeck's, Chris Long, Chris Simms....all had wealthy dads.

We really wanna start going down that road STARTING with P. Diddy? That doesn't look too good.

Those who got "ripped off" got paid their royalties. If they aren't complaining, why are you?

That has nothing to do with it.

Nah...you're not the chief race baiter in these threads. It's only my imagination.

The topic was about paying for a scholarship, but i knew that you'd find a way to work your nonsense in somehow.
