WHY?

You stated "Everything in the military is done in the best interests of our country."

Just HOW was lying about the circumstances of Pat Tillman's death "in the best interests of our country"?

Just HOW was the incident at My Lai "in the best interests of our country"?

Just HOW was lying to Congress and the American people about our 'progress' in Vietnam "in the nbest interests of our country"?

Respect?

BULLS**T!

Default Best interests of our country?

How in hell was the entire Vietnam fiasco” in the best interests of our country"? All our colonial wars since have been even more useless. Wars to make warmongers and suppliers ever wealthier off public money benefits only them while impoverishing the rest of us. Not to mention the thousands maimed, insane or dead veterans and unlucky civilians.

If you join today's Army you are not defending the country but only the war profiteers and the proselytizers that would spread their warped Christianity to the Muslim world.

Naturally the common people don't want war. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship. All you have to do is to tell them that they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

Many soldiers received the Medal of Honor for the massacre at Wounded Knee.

Ummm no thanks. I don't feel like being the property of the US Government, nor do I want to fight somebody elses wars. When there is a threat of war on our shores from another country, sure I'll fight to protect my homeland. However; I don't see that happening anytime soon.

What you say is not true. The recruiter is to be respected.
