I'm not the only one who feels that way. Yet another social more that seems to allude a segment of our country.
The only conversation I hear about Colin is distaste for his actions.
Nobody forces anyone to participate in the singing of the National Anthem. You don't even have to stand. It isn't "Forced Patriotism". Now if a KGB, or STASI like agent got in your face, and/or arrested you for not participating, then that would be forced patriotism. Maybe a few people here need to experience that, and see what Progressivism leads to.
No i said that the national anthem was always played at certain games. Superbowl, World Series, locally etc, but it really took off nationally after 9-11, along with celebrating the military at the games too.

Thats actually a good thing imo, I dont think the founding fathers would be too happy to see so many people today just blindly obeying a tyrannical govt. Its one thing to be patriotic for ones country, but its another thing entirely when majority of the population has been duped into accepting tyranny to the degree the US people have.
So maybe taking a knee during the anthem is the appropriate thing to do, it shows you are still patriotic and proud of the principles the US was founded on, but not the current form of Govt we have right now.

Arguing that one should lose their job for not going along with the crowd really is forcing things.
Why? The National Anthem glorifies war. I don't care what people think of me; war is something to be avoided at all costs. No matter what our lying politicians say, America is the most warmongering country in the world. My parents raised me here; where I was born wasn't my decision. America is a great country, but war and killing people is not what makes it great. Anyone who follows that twisted logic needs to have their head examined.

Gay men and lesbians suffered unusually cruel treatment in the concentration camps. They had their testicles boiled off by water.[14] Survivor Pierre Seel said "The Nazis stuck 25 centimeters of wood up my ass". They faced persecution not only from German soldiers, and many gay men were beaten to death.
If "war is something to be avoided at all costs" and American and allied soldiers during WWII had not died defeating the Nazis and defending our freedoms, Nazi Germany would have taken over the world. World domination by the Third Reich was the goal. There would be no homosexuals, as they would all be imprisoned or/and murdered by the Nazi government.
Anyone that thinks playing the National Anthem is fake patriotism or is too lazy or disinterested to stand should go live somewhere else.
The Anthem is part of America. Love it or leave it. I'm tired of the bed wetting liberals whining about everything and ruining what this country stands for.
This land was stolen from the true inhabitants called "Native Americans". America was built on the backs and blood of Africans. America is wicked and corrupt from the President on down and has been for centuries. What good is standing and saluting a flag if we show no love and loyalty to all citizens? What good is our so called patriotism when poor people and minorities are discriminated and oppressed with hurtful policies? Love for country starts with love for all people.
