We need to get out. The only reason we are in Afghanistan now is because the US (read as W and Cheney) fumbled the whole thing and went after shiny things in Iraq and totally screwed that up as well with lies and incompetence. Trump negotiating with the Taliban is as crazy as his love letters from Kim Jong-Un. That has gone so well.

Some on the left NEVER take responsibility for their own actions. It is always the "other" guys" fault!
He pulls the troop removal off, he will go down in history as being the only one to uphold this campaign promise....and quite possibly seal his chances of re-election.
Leaving 8000 still there is not delivering on a promise.
Thank goodness the end is almost here. I sure hope it's a complete withdrawal of troops and none of this leave some military advisors behind nonsense. And absolutely no more taxpayer dollars are to go to Afghanistan.
A third soldier this week died in Afghanistan on Thursday. Let's get them the **** out of there already, we've been there for 18 years.
I don't care about political parties, the government just needs to get it done.
They are still going to be there.

So once again, if he actually pulls it off and removes all troops, it would be a promise upheld. Don't get me wrong I would love for my husband to come home and say deployment slotted for 202X has been cancelled.
