A lot of 2010s are a better product than many 2013 up Obamobiles with poor drivability, gunked up engines and failing transmissions all to get a couple measly mpgs..
Lololol, I was waiting for some alt-righter to play the “Obama Card”.
Maybe stick to Honda and Toyota instead of whatever garbage you’re currently buying.
You have zero proof to back up your lies, as usual.

Toyota and Mazda often have tried to use somewhat more proven designs to meet increasingly stringent fuel mileage requirements, but Honda went all on in with the crappy powertrain choice often used by automakers to meet the fuel mileage target. And they all have often problematic direct injection and **** poor electric power steering. They're all crap Obamobiles, not anything a car guy would want to design and build.
I know a guy just like this.....connects the name Obama onto any word that represents something he doesn't like. He does it daily and whenever he does the people around him (including me) roll our eyes in embarrassment for him. He sounds so ignorant and uninformed and is also quite proud of his fact-lacking proclamations.
This is ultimately what its coming down to. Federal law is supreme to state law and California isn't free to regulate on this issue where the federal government has taken charge.
Sorry but no, that isn't correct.
California was granted wavier from certain parts of Clean Air Act because that state already had much cleaner air (at the time) than others. What DT and his administration want is to take away/undo that legal granting of power to California in order to enforce their twisted environmental views.
As a group they have decided to sell a much more expensive product to the entire country. You can't do that.
exactly...and that's it in a nut shell
It's an investigation....if there's nothing wrong they have nothing to worry about....so why all the screaming, threats, insults....if they did nothing wrong
Calif is the largest single market...they want to make just one car for that market...and sell it to the whole country...can't blame them for that, that's just business
...the investigation will see if they can do it

Where do you stand on state's rights generally? Just curious.

Direct injection has been around for decades, as has power steering, and they both pre-date Obama.....so I have no idea what you’re on about other than whining about Obama.
Any you know what, “car guy[s]” don’t even represent 1% of the market, so don’t delude yourself into thinking that you have *any idea* what the average consumer wants.
No, in the quest to meet ever increasing EPA and CARB emissions and CAFE fuel economy requirements and also safety requirements, vehicles' affordability, durability and repairability, reliability, drivability and desirability is taking a decline from where it would be without increasingly stringent gas mileage and emissions requirements. Vehicles manufactured before about 2012 and Obama and CARB meddling are better in those respects than later models. The late model's platform or chassis may somewhat be improved, but to meet the emissions and fuel mileage standards those factors mentioned and the car overall is not an improvement.
The Commerce Clause by not allowing the importation and sale of Federal standards vehicles.
CA was I think given permission to establish CARB regulations and it might've made some sense up till the late 70s and early 80s, but it doesn't make sense now. California is abusing it and CARB should be done away with.

Gas direct injection is not a new concept. It's been around for many decades, just almost never used in a production road car for good reason until recently. Diesel are direct injection of course. But gas direct injection is not a good idea for affordable and reliable consumer automobiles. And I said electric power steering, not just power steering, which has poor feedback and road feel compared to hydraulic assist. These technologies are being used to get a small increase in fuel efficiency and lowered emissions but at a cost that is not worth it.
I realize most car owners are far from car guys, but we have government and non-car guys designing flawed cars.
