I agree with you. People who resort to hyperbole and exagerations to make their point generally tend to miss the point, which is abortion is a complicated issue that Americans tend to have mixed views about. No in depth discussion can happen as long as babies in blenders as well as trying to equate fetuses with sperm or bunions are bandied about.

To get proper medical information on the procedure, you would search on "intact dilation and extraction" not "partial birth abortion" as partial birth abortion is not the name of any medical procedure.
ID&X are still performed, but not in the manner discussed by the previous poster. The head is not delivered prior to abortion. The abortion is performed within the womb. They are performed in less than .03% of all abortions. D&E is a much safer procedure, and is what is more commonly used in later term abortions.
ID&X does not present a "dismembered" fetus and is most commonly used in cases of fetal defect in which the parents desire an intact fetus.
While I am not a huge fan of pictures of aborted babies being sprung on people, I do believe it is important that people see them as these pictures depict the truth and horror of abortion. The fact of the matter is, we are visual learners. Is is wrong to show people what smoking does to their lungs and body? Is is wrong to show teenagers pictures of drunk driving accidents so as to teach them the dangers of drinking and driving? Do we brand it vile and repulsive to have pictures of the Holocaust in our history books? What about pictures of starving children in Africa? No, b/c these pictures educate, they depict truth and seeing the truth changes hearts and puts people into action. Yes, pictures of aborted babies are disgusting and horrible, but more disgusting and horrible is the actual practice of abortion, which no one can deny stops the beating heart of a member of the human race and does so by horrifying mutiliation.
