If you are in the minority of that vote deal with it.
When just when are liberals going to stop trying to force their views on others? The Citizens of the state said NO. What now you want our votes to mean nothing also?
Would you say the same if heterosexual marriage was made illegal?
It's not trying to "force views" if all we want is equality. That's all we ask for, is for homosexuals to be treated equally as citizens of the United States. If we allow heterosexual marriage but not homosexual marriage, then it's discrimination, pure and simple.
This ruling was not a good one. Equality should never be put to a vote.
It is important to realize that supporting or not supporting the court's decision is different from supporting or not supporting same-sex marriage no longer being allowed in a state.
Personally, I think it's unfair to take away a right that's already been granted. At the same time, the Constitution was amended as legally allowed and, thus, this decision was the only correct one. You can't say the justices are anti-gay or even anti-gay marriage; they're simply pro-Constitution.
Exactly, the rules should be changed and this was more of the court going "Oh man, it's really screwed up that this can happen, someone better change this". Court just checks to make sure the rules are being followed.
Regardless of your personal feeling on the subject, the ruling was the only one acceptable. Anything else would have directly gone against the state Constitution.

Which I do understand. I can only hope there is some amendment in the future that can prevent something like this.
That, or some sort of national recognizance of homosexual marriage similar to interracial marriage.
I reiterate, though. Equality should never be put to a vote.

Exactly. I understand the argument that the people voted and the court upheld it. But it should never have been put to a vote in the first place. People better be careful what they wish for. I predict that this will go on until everyone either gets a "marriage" or a "civil union". I don't care, but won't the "marriage is between a man and a woman" crowd be awfully upset when all of a sudden they can't get married either, just a "civil union?"
Oh man oh man, I just can not WAIT until you people who against gay marriage get your civil rights stomped on. Oh wait, like take away your precious guns. Boohoo!
At least the one that tries to take it away, will go with it.
