So...I notice that the vast majority of my guy friends that are my age (20's-early 30s) are still playing video games on a regular basis. Most of them just come home from work and hit the XBOX or ps3. I cant stand the things. They bore me to no end, and I'd rather be out doing things in life. Anyways....what do women think about men that play video games? Since a good portion of my friends that are video game addicts are married I'm assuming that most women don't mind??

Personally, I think they are wasting their lives in front of an entertainment cube that offers no real benefit. I also think it is a HUGE sign of immaturity, and that they are still focused on the instant gratification of the game, which is a sign of being immature and unable to focus on something (like reading, education, learning a skill, etc) that will give them something back in the long run.

Go ahead, flame me . Those types of video games have always been verboten in my home.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with a thumbs down on the addicted to games guy. I do have friends who play occasionally - and I will even sit down for a few games to play - but generally...no thanks.

I haven't met many (read:any) successful people who play video games regularly, so no.

My DH used to play them tons before we got together. Now he's so busy with real life that he never does. We'll still play together every once in a while if there is literally nothing else to do, but as a norm, no.

My husband is in his forties and still plays video games. If he gets a new hot game, he will play it until wee hours of the morning. Otherwise, he plays sometimes on the weekends. He works hard, loves me and my children, does everything expected of him.

He doesn't neglect me or the children so I don't really care if that is how he chooses to spend his free time.

He is considered a "God" among his nephews and nieces. ha ha

Video games are no less harmful than some one who spends all their time on this forum. What if he thinks your hobbies or interest boring. What do you call people who jump off cliffs for fun. I call it crazy but I am sure people who engage in those activities who would think otherwise.

I would find that to be a very unattractive hobby. Thumbs down for me too.

As a once in a while thing - okay.

As a "second career" after work - nope.

If it's not a routine thing or something he enjoys with his friends, then sure.

If it's his hobby - NO.

i've never really understood the fascination with it, and I do tend to assume (right or wrong) that the game addict is immature.
