Hi all - since we have so many restaurant experts on CD-SA, I thought I would ask all of you to share your opinions (and you might even win a prize). Tong's Thai is conducting a survey and would really like feedback from the San Antonio community.

Click here to take the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?s...Tw_2b3Dw_3d_3d Grand prize: your choice of an iPod Touch or Garmin GPS. Second prizes: $25 gift certificates to Tong's Thai.

I know CD'ers have many candid opinions, so thanks for sharing them!

Default Mr. & Mrs. G's

Visited Mr. & Mrs. G's on WW White
Attachment 52396
This is cafeteria style small eatery with set menu and daily specials.
Attachment 52393 Attachment 52394
I had ham hock with mashed potatoes, mix veggies and squash.
Attachment 52395
The ham hock was very tasty, well seasoned and cooked to perfection, tender and not too fatty. All food is home cooked and has a good selection of backed, fried meats and variety of vegetables, home made simple cakes. I tried the pound cake and it was delicious.
I have to say, I was surprised how busy that little restaurant was still at 3 PM. It must be the reputation of real homemade, great tasting food - two walls covered with awards speak for themselves.
The restaurant is a bit remotely located, in not the best neighborhood, but definitely worth the trip.
2222 S WW White Rd
San Antonio, TX 78222
Ph. (210) 359-0002 ( call for daily specials )
open Mon-Fri from 11 AM till 6 PM
credit cards o.k.
plenty of parking space
very clean dining room and restrooms!

I eat out at little as possible but met hubby for lunch the other day at Babes old fashioned Food on Brandea road. They make a killer BLT and the fries were perfect!! Hamburger was very good too.

Today:

April's on South Alamo for a quick, friendly and inexpensive Chinese lunch. They also do a super-fast drive thru service. April's usually working the window... She's great.

I ate at Lien Hung Vietnamese Restaurant. It's a hole in the wall place with killer Pho Noodles. Very cheap prices and big portions. $6.50 for a huge bowl of Pho Noodles with tons of beansprouts and basil.

I was not impressed. The meat in my pho was at least 50-50 fat. The broth was waterly and tasteless.
Maybe it was just one of "those" days. I will give them another try.
