Do NOT post about episodes or "spoilers" until 24 hours after the episode has aired in the US, pacific time. To post about them is posting spoilers and considered trolling. Post spoilers in a Spoiler thread.

How will Arya aged 20 years by waiting 1-3 seasons? I doubt they would have to recast the whole cast. None of them are getting good roles with the exception of Peter Dinkage (the Imp can act). Emilia Clarke was awful in Terminator. Same goes for Sansa as Jean in X-Men; she is beautiful but her acting was horrid. She will ride the X-Men Phoenix Saga to the bank. Do you really believe Arya and Bran will have a long Hollywood career??
Arya would age twenty years by waiting for Martin to finish the final two books.

Waiting for Martin was never an option, for two reasons:

One, they would have had to recast the entire series. Do we really want a forty year-old Maisie Williams playing Arya Stark?

Two, waiting on Martin to finish a book is like waiting on a winning lottery ticket. You're thrilled if it happens, but you're a fool if you're counting on it.
Not sure Martin intended to finish the books after signing the film deal.
It became a grand experiment in cross media entertainment. He brought the beast to life, gave a direction, and set the stage. Now, anything he writes will end up in conflict with the story lines that have grown separate from his original story. He will let the new beast live its own life (or die a horrible death) on the screen.

GRRM stated he is almost finished. He is waiting for HBO to finish series so he can get material to finish the books.

Wrong on all counts.

Martin has been saying he is "almost finished" for four years. The last book came out 6 years ago, and he has stated repeatedly the next will not be out in 2017, and might be out in 2018. Maybe. But probably not.

He stated publicly a few years ago that he was desperately trying to finish WINDS OF WINTER for the TV show, but has since realized that will never happen. He is not writing based on the TV at all, which has diverged widely from his own material.

I for one sure hope he ignores everything in this season. The plot no longer makes a whit of sense and many beloved heroes are now acting completely out of character. Since when did Tyrion become a timid buffoon?

Because we won't be waiting 1-3 seasons. The best we can probably hope for on a WINDS OF WINTER publication date is 2019. There is at least one more book after that, and at Martin's current publication pace, that will likely come out around 2027. Maisie Williams will be 30 years old. Should she still really be playing a 14 year old character then?

At this point, I think his final book may be finished by others, like his wife and/or the people from westeros.org who helped him with the coffee table book.

I just got a newsletter from GRRM. He stated "DONE!" LOL..

I remember he stated that a couple of readers correctly guessed the ending to GOT.

Who are Roberts six & ten kids? I'm gonna guess Cersei's pregnancy doesn't last since her 3 have already been born and died. Maybe that's what makes her cry?
I took the one to overthrow her to mean MARJORIE. She was younger, prettier and smarter. She did essentially replace her..
