Meghan Markle has royal ancestors herself, way back there, according to recent genealogical investigations. Not that it should matter, beyond being a mildly interesting bit of trivia. She's actually something like a 20th cousin numerous times removed to Prince Harry.

Your post sounds more racist than patriotic, to be honest. Sad for you. I plan to enjoy watching the Royal wedding next weekend, (whilst sipping tea and comfortably ensconced in the hide-a-bed in front of the telly, so I won't have to get up at 4:30 a.m.) and wish all good things for the happy couple.
I'll be up and watching as well! Just as I did for Will and Kate and Di and Charles, though I skipped out on Andrew and Fergie. My alarm is already set - LOL.

I'll sip some tea too, and if there are commercials, I'll browse through my Britain magazines. Such fun!

I think they were both injured emotionally as children but hopefully have worked through their issues (it's entirely possible to do so - I can attest to that!). Both families are dysfunctional. But my family was too, as was my husband's family - in fact, both our mothers were diagnosed as seriously mentally ill and believe me, THAT will mess up one's childhood! It took us awhile to sort things out but by the time we met in our early forties, we were pretty well straightened out and have been very happy together for the past thirteen years and I'm sure we'll grow old together.

I say all that to say this - that I'm glad that Harry and Meghan waited till they were a bit older, sowed their oats and grew up so to speak, before they settled down. I think that probably bodes well for them. I wish them luck and great joy.

And I hope they have kids!

I agree - My paternal grandmother was Scottish to the bone and she also had flaming red hair - I got red highlights but was not ever a true ginger - and I wish I was because most people I know find red hair very appealing.

Back to topic though - my kids are biracial. I was always afraid that my maternal and paternal grandmother's red hair gene would pop out and I'd end up with kids with red afros! But none of my kids ended up with either red hair OR afros. LOL!

Awww!

I do have one son who definitely inherited brownish red hair and when he's out in the sun alot (which he often is because he lives in Guam and is a beach baby) that red really does pop out. He also has a ruddier complexion than the other three. Two of my kids got fabulous black hair with beautiful curls, and cafe au lait skin tones and two got brownish red highlights in their hair and ruddier complexions - but they all really did turn out quite well - LOL. But I have to admit that I was glad none of them got the flaming red hair from either grandmother! I could just see Bozo the Clown hair in my nightmares!

I can't wait to see Harry and Meghan's babies - hope they have a few. I'm sure they'll be adorable. I have always had a soft spot for Harry, even during his wilder younger days. The image of him lagging behind the older men and his brother as they marched behind his mother's casket broke my heart. And that note to his mummy propped on the bouquet - Oh my gosh. What an ordeal for such a youngster to endure. I am so glad to see how happy both he and William seem to be as adults.

The "Daily Mail", aka Daily Fail) has a brand-new story - Meghan Markle's father suddenly claims to have had a heart attack six days ago and now says he is not going to the wedding. He also says he is deeply embarrassed by the paparazzi "scandal" and doesn't want to further embarrass anyone.

He does not explain his very recent drive from his home in Mexico to California, where he spent a night, ran some errands, and dropped off a pot of flowers and a card for his ex-wife, Meghan's mother. Nor does it explain why no one else in his family came to his assistance, or why the wedding was not postponed, etc.

No other news outlet is reporting this, just the DM. They claim Markle talked to TMZ about this - need to check their website, I suppose.

It's sad and frustrating to see such family dysfunction, practically right up to the walk down the aisle.

On the other hand, I would not be surprised to see a retraction of the story by the DM, followed by copious apologies. Anything to sell copy...

At least she is much prettier than Mette-Marit, the Crown Princess of Norway. She was a single mum before she met the Crown Prince. An ex boyfriend still got a sex video of her. Talk about revenge porn Mette-Marit’s father married a stripper four years after the royal wedding. Her eldest son (non-royal) has dropped out of university and pretends to be part of the royal family while abroad. Such a classy family.

I'm getting in a very large box of popcorn.
The fact that the House of Windsor is getting into bed with trailer trash Kardashians is pure comedy gold.
I wonder if there's a bet on the first to die - Prince Phillip or this marriage.

If true, this is very sad. Not surprising, but sad.

I guess we should feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for Meghan in a way. Getting married is anxiety making, marrying into the royal family is many steps more nerve wracking than that, and now her dad isn't even going. And besides that, there are embarrassing stories surrounding the matter, like a fake heart attack and staged photos.

Is the wicked estranged sister involved in this mess? I read somewhere that the staged photographs were her idea and I read that she made money from them. Then I read that she only said that so that to help the father. She is very bitter. He is coming across as rather pathetic.

I had previously pictured them getting the dad over there and more or less keeping him confined to keep him out of trouble. Seems like a nice of enough person, but troubled. I would have thought they could have been keeping him amused, helping him along, so in retrospect it did seem odd that he was still in Mexico, not over there with the royals. Of course Meghan's mother hasn't gone yet, but she doesn't seem to need a keeper.
